“Hey,just moved to texas from alabama.Teaching hiking and backpacking merit badges to group of older boy scouts.Need trail info for west texas were they could achive 20 miles in one day.any help would be great.thanks... bama hiker

“Guadaloupe Peak Trail, El Capitan Trail, & Devil Hall.
These are the ones I've hiked. They were Awesome. There's more trails on the north side of the park. They look pretty good from viewing them via Gaudaloupe Peak.
There was no water at all in the backcountry where I was. Not sure about the North side.”

“Be hard to get 20 miles in one day at Guadaloupe NP., too much elevation change.

Might try Strawhouse Trail in Big Bend. There are a couple of Rail to Trail Conversions that would give a fairly easy 20 miles, Caprock Canyons or Mineral Wells State Parks.”
