RE: whatch'all doin' this here weekend
Gonna beat ya there, Pennsy...I am leaving today (Thursday) from work, at about 2:00. Stopping at Campmor in Paramus on my way, to exchange some stuff I just got that doesn't fit...then on to Lafayette Campground in the White Mountains of NH.

Will climb Mt. Washington on Friday, it looks like that is the best weather day I'll have. Will hike Sat. and Sunday also (prob. Garfield and Liberty/Lafayette), maybe Monday too, but I'll probably come home late Sunday night. (An eight hour day-hike followed by an eight-hour drive...yuck.)

I'm going to get on an airplane for Tennessee. I am more afraid of the guys with guns all over the airport than I am of terrorists--they seem to have a really wild reaction these days to any little thing.

Baker lake in the Sawtooths, for my (younger) kids first real backpack. Its a mile in, and is stocked with Golden trout, the type found in high mountain lakes of the Sierra Nevada. Maybe we'll catch a few fish and try not to freeze out butts off. Talk about going light NOT, my pack may be huge. Good thing its only a mile. My 10 year old daughter is luke warm, but my 5 year old son is stoked. We also watched a snow camping video, and he says he wants to go with me next time I go.

It sure would be nice if we got a day off for the president's birthday, like they do for the Queen of England. Of course, then we would have a lot of people voting for a candidate born on July 3 or December 26, just for the long weekends.

I'm co-hosting a benefit concert in New Jersey for the hurricane vics. It's called Storm-Aid. We will be simulcasting it on our own homegrownradionj.com and will also be broadcast on at least one other local radio station there. The remote is coming out of Netcong, New Jersey. There are three stages going simultaneously from 12 Noon to 8 PM. I will be working the main stage, interviewing musicians, playing music between sets, etc. etc. Should be fun! Tune in if you're around....

I had the week off, but have to work midnights on the weekend. Will probably work on putting the roof on my new fieldstone shed during the day. The wife is pop-up camping all week with her girlfriend & I have 5 days off next week.

I am going to the campgrounds for the annual chili cook off! I have steaks in the cooler and I just cut up a red, green and yellow pepper, asparagus, purple onion, mushrooms, zucchini, summer squash, and green olives in a nice Italian marinade for roasting on the grill. A few nice big oil can beers and I’m set! It’s going to be sunny all weekend (accept for at night) and 70s day time and mid 40s at night. Perfect!

No, That's the right size. 54' long, 20' across, over 8' deep. I dropped a part in it, and spent a good deal of time looking for it. I can't believe that he did it myself.

Run, soccer, shop for light fixtures for our remodeled area, yardwork, run again, laundry at the laundromat (since we are without washer/dryer during the remodel), shop for groceries, cook, etc.

It's pretty natural til it balances out treebait. The filter has to build up bacteria first.

Oh I know about that. 4-6 weeks of nitrate/ nitrite spikes, hoping nothing snuffs it. My little pond has a very large biofilter on it. The only problem is it could take 2 months for the bacteria balance to reach optimum. I guess you could go for barley floats or granules or whatever. I can't wait for our pond to be done though. I love my fish but I want them OUT of the damn kitchen!
