continental divide hiking partner
Just finished the Eastern Continental trail this year (4600 mi) and looking for someone to hike this trail with. The ECT took me 8 mo and the CD i think wil take me 5 mo. If you interested in going I have the expertise in the longhaul or if you need info or advice for ECT I will help.

Sounds like fun, Johnny3. I wish I had that kind of time. Let me know if I can help in providing any info, on the Canadian end of the CD.

and I am towards the southern end.

CDT, El Malpais, New Mexico

The New Mexico Mountain Club does a lot of work on the trail, still needs lots of work.

That was to demonstrate the trail that I spent 6 hours looking for. How about this sky?

Head north on the CDT, and it can't help but get better. The volcanic formations are pretty cool though.

The whole trail is terrific - very very different from the AT, but there is a lot of beautiful country out there, if you have the eyes to see it. Some of it is obvious - Glacier or the Winds, some of it much more subtle, like the Red Desert. But hiking it was a terrific experience. Check out CDT-l for a partner, or come to one of the Gatherings, if you can. I know a bunch of people who plan to hike the CDT next year who will be at either the Aldha or Aldha-West Gatherings. I wish I were one of them. Some day I will hike the CDT again -
