Your post is absolutely correct, a flag will not get you into heaven!

But the assumption that Jesus does not advocate killing for any reason could not be any further from the truth. We must keep this world rid of evil, nasty people like Hitler, Stalin, Milosevic, Hussein and so on. They must be cut out like the cancer they are!
So called "peace loving / anti war" people who will not raise a finger to defend people against being slaughtered by fascist governments are partially responsible for the slaughter. YOU CANNOT LOVE THE WORLD INTO A PEACEFUL STATE!!!
A failure to fight evil results in the type of events like we saw in WWII. If we had acted sooner we could have saved millions of lives. Peace loving people go to war to preserve peace, to defend freedom, and to save lives in the long run. Look at all the misery and suffering around the world, this is caused by the corruption of mankind and it spreads like wildfire if it is not stopped.
We must stand firm and have the resolve to go to battle for what is right, to stop little children from being mutilated in front of their parents because they happen to be the wrong color, or to be hacked to death because they are outspoken against their murderous dictator.

"Thou shalt not kill" is often misunderstood, when translated back to the original text it reads "Thou shalt do no murder" or in other words the purposeful killing of an innocent person without just cause.

Sometimes when we engage in battle to stop a great evil innocent lives are lost, but it does not happen because we set out to destroy innocent people for the sake of it. The goal is to fight against tyranny and oppression, because if you don't you will have stood by and allowed many more lives to have been lost because you did nothing. Case in point: WWII, we could have saved six million Jews, two -three million Europeans, and about one million Asians by taking out Hitler when we first became aware of his plans to conquer Europe.
Without an ally Japan would have had to stand down.
Also if you believe that Jesus doesn't condone killing, please remember that when he returns to earth to set up his kingdom for the thousand year reign on earth, the first thing he will do is destroy all the evil people on this planet, because it is impossible to have peace as long as they exist!
