RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
I am amazed that, at a time like this, some people start Clinton-bashing. I think it has become such a knee-jerk reaction to anything, (News Flash!..."The sun came up in the East this morning, Clinton Presidency has created hell on earth!!!"), that some people have to resort to the disingenuous and divisive ex-president bashing so as to keep from exercising their last brain cell.

RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
We also might want to consider all of the useless laws passed by the democratic led congress from 1969 to the 80's. The laws, intended to create "rights" for minorities basically allowed lawsuits and lawyers to run amuck (sp)> The laws took the responsibility of beureacrats out of their hands, and into the law, essentially tying the hands of the CIA, FBI, and other government agencies. We are ruled by rules, and perceived rights, when the power of the law should be in the hands of people making decisions based on common sense.

The economy of the past several years was due to the advent of the internet, and everybody and their mother investing in 401K plans. A monkey eating a banana could have been president, and the economy would have been good. The market drives itself, it is mainly effected by confidence, which we should all know by now having learned the hard way this past year. It's funny, when I think back of all those liberals holding signs stating "It's the Economy Stupid" during Clintons 96' campaign - they had no clue, which is why I don't listen to their foolish babble today.

RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
So who's holding Clinton blameless for any of his actions?

Tying the hands of the FBI and the CIA?

Lawsuits run amok???
Oh, dear!!!
Big Business would like nothing more than to bribe the U.S. legislature into taking away more and more rights from the citizens so they can have their way with us......even more than they do now!

RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
No, here is our "New World Order"
$11 out of every $1,000 in education is spent on disabled children, while "advanced" students get .01 cent per $1,000. And we wonder why our education system sucks.

Out of all the "Disabled" people in America, less than 2% are in wheel chairs, yet we spend billions upon billions of dollars every year to make everything wheelchair accesible. Where is the right of the majority of taxpayers?

The only time we get things done in this country quickly, efficiently and properly, is when a disaster happens, and we throw all the stupid rules and regualtions and guidelines out the door, and deal in common sense, and hold our leaders accountable.

This country is a big stagnent machine because of the beurueacratic mess created by the passage of laws granting percieved "rights" to minorities.

I'm not saying we need to abondon our fellow americans, but we need to narrow the gap, and make people as equal as possible without placing power in the hands of the minority.

RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
BB where did that piece of data come from (on education spending?)

Not that 1.1% of education money going to the disabled is all that much. How is that going to explain "why our education system suck." Some statistics and ways of presenting them serve to promote thought, some serve to bypass thought.

I don't mind paying for wheelchair accessibiltiy. My boss and mentor for 10 years was wheelchair bound from age 5. I travelled with him frequently. You'd be amazed at the obstacles this man faced.

Without getting into an educational priorities argument, consider that an "advanced" student prolly has a few more options for learning than the average disabled student.

Why is this relevent?

Clinton is to blame for everything. No Republican president has ever affected the U.S. in a negative way by their domestic or foreign policy.
In fact, when all of the "liberals end up in h-ll, they will be greeted by Bill Clinton.
On the other hand, all "right wing" folks will be floating on clouds, basking in the glow of Ronald Reagan, who has replaced God.

No, bacpac, you miss the point. Yes, there is no doubt that you can blame Clinton for a laundry list of failures. Or, you could choose to blame Bush, Sr. Or, you could choose to blame Reagan. The list goes back to Washington, I'm sure. However, I haven't seen the threads putting the blame on the two presdents preceding Clinton, although they have much responsibility in this matter.
I'm asking why, at the time when we are asking for unity, are the Clinton-bashers so disingenuous and irresponsible as to start a thread such as this.
I know, I know, it's just troll bait...

RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
Sadly, I have to admit to thinking that it is probably a good thing that Clinton was not president at the time the WTC was destroyed by the terrorists. The rabid Clinton haters would be once again putting hate of Clinton before love of country and Clinton would have been savaged for waiting this long to drop bombs and for not dropping more.

Whats worse is that Clinton might have caved under that pressure and gone of half cocked. I never liked or trusted the guy, its just that the Clinton haters were worse.

Something I have found interesting is that I haven?t heard a single liberal supporter stating they still wish Gore would have won the election. In fact I have heard some saying they are now glad Bush won. This isn?t a slam on libs, just an observation.

RE: The Clinton Presidency and the WTC
Nigal: I think that even those people who profoundly distrust Bush know that this is not the time to be bashing him or wishing Gore was president. For better or worse, Bush is the only president we've got. People everywhere have put partisanship aside.

On September 11th, people did post negatively about Bush -- and bemoaned being stuck with him as president and attacked his legitimacy. Others pointed out that this was not the time to do that.

Its not the time for Democrats or Republicans to be scoring big political points against each other. Recent history shows how damaging it is when one side uses a crisis as an opportunity to bash the other. No one wins that game.

Don't get so emotional T. I don't care if someone is in the democratic party, communist party, republican party, or the wife swapping party. A person's politics are their own and they don't offend me.

Oh geez, somebody had to drag Gore in to this. I read this weekend where the airlines and the FAA shot down a report by a commission headed by Gore in 1997 recommending screening all passengers with a computerized profiling system, better security inspections, vulnerability assessments of airports *yadda, yadda*. Anyway, if they'd not been dumped by the cheap-ass airlines, they may have kept the terrorists off the planes and prevented the WTC tragedy.

"War is a Republican make work project." Now there is as intelligent a comment as we'll get from some liberals. Let's all forget history and who was in office when we got into WW2, Korea, and Vietnam, and we can blame it on the republicans. Yeah, that's the ticket.
