The electrical contractor I work for has 10 schools under construction, many of which are due to be completed before the school year begins - crunch time! Soooo, I'm working seven day weeks with no end in sight. I'll have a fair nest egg for something biggish come mid August - mebbe an extended river trip.

Bagged an overnighter Friday night with Mountainrunner, nice hike out early Saturday. Took my wife on a 100 mile motorcycle ride through the countryside to a nice resturaunt for dinner and today, we go to a festival to watch a 5 all girl band that's supposed to be really good, and they're all still in High School.

A little run tonight and it's off to slave away again all week.

Been working this weekend. Trying to finish the After Action report on the Charleston Trip....trying to get an investigation report finished.

Had a drive to Elberton Georgia to look at a new Pup that needs rescue.

climbed (top-rope and bouldering) at the rock gym all day yesterday... forearms are shot toady... and ran 10K. today i run... suited up now to head out for an hour, lift weight at gym... gotta nail all the spots that didn't get injured while climbing, and perhaps take a bike ride with the kids.

i swapped all my weekend backpack trips for one big JMT trip in august and now it looks like my jmt trip will be a bust. so you see me posting here a lot more these days as 2007 slips away. if i start a new job in a month or so that will even further kill things until i wrack up some vacation time. so it's weekend warrior stuff for me!

This morning I went out to go for a nice walk in the mountains. Seemed to be the perfect day for it. When I arrived at the car park and got out I noticed some suspicious, low, clouds rolling in from the west. Each time I looked back over my shoulder the dark clouds became more menacing, moving up towards the pass with an incredible speed. I heard distant thunder. I stoped, trying to figure out what to do: keep on going (a wee little bit of rain won't hurt) or run for cover? Just a minute ago it had been a bright, sunny day, with a fine view across the whole range. Now the swirling forefront of the clouds was just flying by. Instantly the temperature droped a couple of degrees, the wind picked up, first drop of rain, someones baseballcap was flying past me, an elderly couple made a hasty retreat, I heard someone running and was overtaken by a hiker, pulling his panicked little mops dog along, below me a herd of cows started stampeding across the meadow, making a hell of noise with their bells. So cows, dogs, man, baseballcap, everything hurried down the mountain side as fast as they could - and so did I. Ten minutes later I was back at the car, wet like a cat and shivering with cold.
Back home and somewhat disgruntled about my spoiled hike I switched on the tv and stumbled across a documentary about the Eiger, the mountain that took so many climbers life over the decades. Actually Eiger was less than 60 kilometers from where I tried my hike today. After that followed a story about the Air Zermatt rescue team and they airlifted yet another dead climber out of the Matterhorn.

That was my Sunday. Not exactly what I had been hoping for. And tomorrow it's back to work...ugh!

I'm letting it all hang out and drinking beer! It's way too hot so I'm just hanging out pool side in my bikini today in the shade with my laptop.

Which part of the ending did you like best? That I am back to work tomorrow (which is right now, arrrrgh), or the fact that so many climbers awkwardly tumble down swiss mountains?

I went the the wye with NGB, my daughter and her friend on Sunday, after that we went up on Sparks Lane in Cades Cove and picked/ate blackberries.

I stopped by the snack bar at the campground to get them a burger and ran into Ewker and Woodzie.

Never know who will show up in my neighborhood.

Ahh, I thought this was a recent get together she was referring too.

Are bears bad right now? I wish I could sneak the kids up there but even if I could I've been hearing about lots of bear activity. That would scare me off of a backcountry trip with the little ones.

...ooooouuugh, I need a weekend, I so badly need a weekend. I am sooo tired.
And I just discovered that I have dark, blueish rings under my eyes. I look horrible. Probably I suffered subcutaneous bleeding under my eyes after the office chocolate stash fell on my head yesterday.
