“I'm running about 120' of plumbing line for solar panels to heat my pool water. Working off a 24' ladder should be loads of fun.”

“Gonna head out in a while and put the yak (tandem) on the roof, my son is bringing his perception and meet up at a boat launch area shortly thereafter. Gonna use tonight to get my friend acquainted with the yak.

Gonna make breakfast (Dutch Oven breakfast pizza) and hit the lake. Got a couple of islands to hit, friends are joining us Saturday. Gonna chill out Sat night on an island in the lake. Most likely gonna make a one pot meal and a buddy said he can make brownies in a Bakepacker Lite so that will be fun.

Get up Sunday and paddle back to the cars!.

“we went to see BrianSean in his winter drumline show for the first time, (unlike his other shows, this one was in town). this is his school's first winter drumline ever, so yes, it's a very small group. Brian is the one carrying Bass drum 2, the young man with the long hair.

“Bag nights with Scouts. Granted someone is kinda unhappy cause she wants to go camping again (either yak trip or just go out) this weekend!

Its amazing when someone gets their first taste of "the real outdoors". I had shown her how to run my Superfly on Friday night. Well Sunday morning she woke up early and got up and made coffee. I got up and got a small campfire going. We sat there and watched the sun rise over the lake.

This weekend I will be with the Scouts in NC.”

As if it wasn't going to be brutal enough, they are calling for temps near 90...

Stating time is 3:00 am.. Plan will be to crank out as much as we can before 11:00am, then slow down during the early afternoon, before picking it up again once the heat dies down...

Would like to hit HF by 7:00.. Just hoping this ankle holds up...

“We are working on the Quest right now. I like it way more than try-its, but it's SO much more work for me, and the girls too. We've done all the book and are now doing a service project for the Humane Society. We went and took a tour last Friday and for the next three we'll make cat toys, kitty forts, and dog bandanas for them. I'm so ready for Scouts to be done for the year! I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything at this time and don't want to spend any time on prep or meetings.”

“I hear ya. I think the reason I'm so resistant to getting more involved with gsa is all of the days weeks months and years we gave to the bsa. The only thing Laurel's interested in so far is having fun. Sounds good to me.”

“Baking out in the sun. I got out my hiking duds already, since they evaporate sweat much faster. It's 90 out there already. Ugh. I dug out most of a rough area fora garden at the in-laws place. I stopped when I popped my ankle rather loudly and painfully. I think it was a tendon or something out of alignment, because on the way home I rotated my ankle, it popped again and now hurts much less. HPM is resisting going to THD to get more lumber for one of our back yard projects.

Laurel already finished her try-it for girl scouts; we then went out for pizza at a local joint. Yummy.”

“I've still got a pile of snow on the north side of the barn and the grass is about ready to mow for the first time. The peas have finally sprouted:)

Today I've been picking small boulders and throwing them in my stream near the bridge. I intend to make a pool and spruce the area up a little.”

“we cleaned out the barn at camp today. apparently they had been using it for storage all this time. it took 25 of us most of the day to move it all over to the hog barn. you wouldn't believe what crap or how much of it there was in there. there haven't been horses at our camp in several decades.

oh, and i AM hired for the summer! they just haven't told me where in camp and what position yet.”
