Deathmarch99, can U fork yourself? hahahaha...sorry, couldn't help myself.

That march in Alberta was almost canceled, because those whiners were complainting so much. U know...the noisy wheel gets the grease...

The kids can't make Mother's Day gifts in school anymore. It offends the adopted children of homosexuals.

Oh sh!t, bapac thinks this a gay men's college!
He'll probably move to Maryland now, eeeeeeek!

Don't tell the horn-dogs, but this place is crawlin' with babes!

Last school year Miss Maryland could be seen with a dog most every day.
I reckon it was some kinda volunteer thing.
She would show up here with a beauty of a yellow labrador named Vernon with a Seeing Eye harness and little blanket that said "Puppy In Training" across his back.

Now, I'm not some kinda sissy pageant fan!
That stuff was in the campus paper.

I wouldn't want to ruin my reputation as a gay-lovin' pinko.

Tom, I don't think it is much of a secret that college campuses are full of babes. I love going to the AU homecoming games just for the scenery! :-)

REPTILES, unless you live in Oz (the TV show), I wouldn't worry about anyone "rear-ending" you. ;-)

Bacpac, they should just change the name of Mother's Day to Queens (for a) Day and everyone will be happy!

RE: Coming Out Week
It's the parade sh!t that drives me bonkers. Gay is a SEX thing...and yet they want to march in public to show that it's OK. Sure it's OK...to each his own...but to promote "sex" in front of the little kids, who go to watch and enjoy the public entertainment, is just plain wrong!!! I think what really got my goat, no pun intended, was when i saw a pic in the paper of a gay "biker" with a little boy on his shoulder marching in a parade. What kind of message does that send?...please no NAMBLA responses!

2000 Atlanta Gay Pride Parade

The parades are important for gaining acceptance and awareness of the gay lifestyle. I say take your kids and enjoy the pageantry! Oh, there may be a bare breast or butt cheek here and there, but what's the harm in this? Teach your children early to accept alternative lifestyles and be proud you didn't raise a bigot.

Yes Kleetn, LSU will soon completely crash & burn, leaving the way open for Auburn to snag another SEC west title. Any of you Arkansas/LSU/Bama fans ready to sell your SEC championship tickets yet?

I see the Gator fans here are still sore that LSU KICKED FLORIDA'S ASS ROYALLY and knocked them off their "undefeated" pedistal a few years ago. Remember that night? They came swaggering into Death Valley and after a few hours all that was left was their bones.

Yeah, they whupped our ass good last weekend, but they're not seen as "invincible" anymore. Thanks in large part to LSU!

Yep, Steve that's right, LSU scares the pee-pee outta me. Remember that game in 1952? Man, I'm still shaken by that one.

Oh....wait....I'm not under the influence of drugs, and it wasn't a dream. Florida favored by 13.5 points in overrated "Death Valley." I remember covering that spread. Thanks LSU. What are you remembering steve? Still obsessing are you?

Long ago...far away...

You won't catch Florida fans tearing down the goal posts when we beat LSU next year either.

My finance who is a second grade teacher has a male student with 2 dads this year. This past weekend he went shopping with the other dad to buy his real dad a birthday present, how bizarre. My daughter had an end-of-the year party last spring when they graduated elementary school. We helped organize and got the parent lists to call for goodies to bring. Out of 2 classrooms (about 70 kids) TWO lived with both parents (and mine was one).
Not a comment against single parents, just an observation.

OK, seems like everybody here is so PC. I'll say it....God created Adam and Eve...not Adam and Steve.
A few months ago, a professor/scientist in B.C wrote in American Scientific (?) that homosexuality is a sickness, and that 75% of the gays can be cured. He had done research and had prove. Anyway, everybody and I mean everybody (Politicians, other doctors, gays, straights, lawyers etc.) came down on him. A case of denial?

Le Subtil-
My "little one" finished 5th grade last spring.
At the ceremony we had the usual HUGE turn out.....even grand parents show up there.
Other elementary schools should have it so "bad".
I've known these people since Kindergarten and there are a lot of split-ups but usually both "sides" show up.

I did a lot of volunteering through third grade and the way some of the boys would latch on to me I could tell there was a daddy deficit.

As a lesbian, I have also had trouble understanding the pride thing. It's kinda like being proud of being an American. I am certainly glad to be both, feel lucky to be both, not ashamed to be either, but I save the concept of pride for accomplishments.

Someone said something about feeling uncomfortable about hanging out with guys who think about sticking something up something. Do you think that way about women? Should that make women uncomfortable hanging out with you?

I will say, I am releaved to now work at a job where I can introduce my partner as such, talk freely about where we go on vacation, take time off if she has surgery, etc, etc. That is what "Coming Out Day" is all about.

Now that I "came out" on TT, all youse guys who don't want to hike with gays can not hike with me.

I?ll hike with ya Pepperdog. I?d much rather hike with someone who is gay (male or female) than someone who is hateful and/or disrespectful. Hate and disrespect can be contagious, homosexuality can?t. I consider myself a follower of Hashem and His ways and the basis for His ways are loving Him, yourself and all others; gay, straight or otherwise. And good for you for coming out here. If you are going to be something and believe in it don?t hide it. I know what it?s like to have to hide who you are to those around you.

RE: Coming Out Week
The only reference to 'homosexuality' that turned up in a search of the Scientific American website was this letter to the editor:

TURING'S TRAGEDY

In their article "Alan Turing's Forgotten Ideas in Computer Science," B. Jack Copeland and Diane Proudfoot neglected to explain the circumstances surrounding Turing's tragic death. In a climate of intense hatred and public vilification of gay people in Britain, Turing committed suicide in 1954 after a conviction related to his homosexuality. Were it known that he had been a war hero (having deciphered Enigma), the prosecution would never have taken place, and this great man might still be alive today. But because Enigma's decoding was still a state secret, Turing never told the prosecutors of his pivotal role in the war. And although his wartime superiors could have blocked the prosecution, they did not. In failing to mention this, the authors have hidden from readers Turing's exceptional heroism and moral courage?even when at great cost to himself.

RE: Coming Out Week
Stanlee, obviously you didn't read the article, let alone apply a moment of critical thought to it.

Despite this, you are trying to tell people what this article proves and are suggesting that people who criticized the article did so as a result of denial.

I hope you are at least a little uncomfortable with the astonishing level of ignorance, arrogance and bias you have so clearly revealed.

PepperDog, I mentioned that I'm just a bit uncomfortable hanging with people who pick their nose in public. I wouldn't want to hang with a woman who felt comfortable with that either....

But if she really, really liked college football, I could make an allowance.

PedXing, you're absolutley right. I didn't read the article (I'm not even sure it was from American Scientific, that's why I put a (?) in my earlier post)...I heard it on the news on the radio (several times) on different channels. It wasn't from the internet so the chances of it being a hoax is less remote (I hope).
So the people screaming at that researcher (?) without ever trying out his "curing" methods are correct?

RE: Coming Out Week
Oops, didn't finish my post. Way back when, if anybody suggested that the earth revolved around the sun they were criticized, even placed under house arrest. I think this is exactly what happened in this case. As the song goes, "Give peace a chance...". Give the "cure" a chance.

RE: Coming Out Week
Stanlee: I'm not sure what words the people "screamed" at the person who wrote the article. I am suggesting that people who read the article and carefully examined the claims are more credible to me than people who haven't read it. If someone tells me the article was flawed or the research was bad just because they disagree with the conclusions I'd call them biased and ignorant too.

As far as I can tell, there are people who have gone from gay to straight who are happier for having changed. There are also people who have left heterosexual relationships for homosexual ones who are happier for having changed. That may not be politically or religiously correct in anyone's view... but thats what I have seen.

RE: Coming Out Week
pepperdog,
My comment stems from an experience I had when I first moved to Vegas and was looking for a place to live. In the Las Vegas classifieds I found several "roommate wanted" ads (I know what was I thinking). One of the interviews was with a man, who was obviously gay, and admitted it to me. He was nice, professional, had a beautiful house (of course!), but he admitted that I looked attractive to him. The rent was dirt cheap but I felt very uncomfortable knowing that he thought I was attractive. I'm sure as a lesbian you are turned off by men who leer at you, just as I as a hetrosexual was turned off by a man leering at me.

Reptiles - I don't particularly like anyone leering at me, male or female, gay or straight.

My theory is that most straight men are very uncomfortable around gay men because they know where their minds go when they are around women.

I would put money on that being a pretty sound theory pepperDog.

I was the most homophobic person I knew before I met my wife, and I'm not proud of it. I have come to accept the fact that there are many differnet view points and lifestyles since. Not by her preaching at me but by her actions and outlooks on things. Being different than me doesn't immediately mean bad and doesn't need to cause me fear and discomfort. This is only one of the great things I have gained from my marriage.
