But in reality if one were to think of the logistical impossibility of an invasion of the U.S., the idea of a "Red Dawn" is laughable.

The idea that, as some have feared, the Chinese pose some kind of threat to the U.S. is equally absurd.
Since a land invasion is more than impossible that leaves the NUKE-EM threat.

What's to prevent the "soviets"...who, Russians?....from putting there foot on U.S. soil?
Even without modern spy satelites, relative air-superiority and radar and visual surveillence could detect large movements of military units.
Even staging would be impossible to miss.
Then there is the matter of logistical support....the massive tail to support the teeth of such an undertaking.
