Phyco Light weight ideas “I was just reading about ulta light weight hikers that didn't pack a shelter or sleeping bag, so they just slept in there rain gear. What do you guys think about this.” 1:38:47 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I think it is time for class.” 1:39:26 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Why don't you give it a try, Ice Tea. After that, come back and affirm for us what an incredibly bad idea it was.” 1:41:17 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Sounds very uncomfortable. Pass.” 1:43:22 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Bacpac, i'm in my commerical art class, I accel at it so all my projects are finnished.” 1:50:11 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Have you got time to crack that grammar book?” 1:51:13 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I read in National Geographic about this group of guys who mountain biked over 700 miles of the Brooks Range in Alaska (cross country) and the first weak all they had was cold food and raingear. They did the rest of the trip with a Megamid style tent. They carried the bikes more than they rode them. I would think here in the east like N.J. it would not be too far fetched depending on your comfort level of tolerance. I have been seeing this vest for a while in Seirra Trading Post and have wondered if it can be loaded carefully enough for a summer minimalist weekend trip. It?s down to $100 now.” 1:56:46 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Why does minimalist equipment always cost maximalist?” 1:59:24 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Smaller market?” 2:04:46 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Tea, on my first trip we slept under the stars 'cause the jerk (I mean good friend) I went w/ was too lazy to put the thing up. I was pissed. We didn't have pads and we might as well have been w/out bags. We slept in a total dirt chicken patch. It was fine though. We had dogs, it made me much more comfortable.” 2:07:00 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Sleeping on the ground without a pad or sleeping bag? Nope, none for me thanks.” 2:11:08 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “The last time I spent the night on the ground without a pad or sleeping bag was the night I "discovered" PGA punch in undergraduate school.” 2:12:16 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “at least spellcheck your thread titles!” 2:19:11 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “lol @ chili36 - been there!” 2:24:24 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Does anything feel quite as good as cool wet grass upon a drunken face?” 2:30:19 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “We didn't do this out of trying to be lightweight. We were lazy.” 2:33:42 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Does anything feel quite as good as hot wet girls upon a drunken face?” 2:33:43 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Nigal, no offense, but rads post is the way I would like to remember it. Unfortunately, after the night of PGA punch, the only thing I can remember touching my face was the trash bag I used for a blanket.” 2:38:50 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Yo Nige. A buddy of mine has used that patgucci fish vest set up on a couple of minimalist treks. He packed a henessy in it. He was pushing it tho. Only good for overnighter at most.” 2:44:42 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “What is PGA punch anyways?” 3:33:11 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Newgirl, I have a feeling that life is about to change for you. Aero, can you arrange for newgirl to "discover" PGA punch?” 3:34:45 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “If it's anything like "Rocket Fuel" you'd better bring a barf bag!” 3:36:11 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I think you are on track here Aero. Newgirl, you might also scout out a nice flat spot on the ground in the near vicinity of your experiment with PGA punch.” 3:37:50 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “My first "ultralight" experience was after the senior kegger when I slept face-first in a flower bed.” 3:39:30 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I didn't say I wanted to try some, I just want to know what it is.” 4:01:55 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Pure Grain Alcohol and Kool-Ade, newgirl. PGA is 180 proof minimum (some are double distilled to 200 proof).” 4:15:22 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “It's 198-proof (99% alcohol) Grain Alcohol. Not sure what the "P" stands for, but Everclear is the most-potent/hazardous alcohol a person will ever drink.” 4:16:23 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Oh, I had some Everclear and Kool-Aid before Prom junior yr. It was really lovely . . . for about 10 minutes. Not interested in trying that again.” 4:22:34 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “eww! why do you ruin it with kool aid? chill it and kill it!” 4:40:12 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I probably would have died w/out the kool-aid.” 4:42:27 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Sure Mr.Rad...I did a shot once and couldn't talk or breathe for what seemed like forever. Also, the same night, we were covering our heads with paper grocery bags and having someone shotgun doobie smoke into them. Young, dumb, and full of fun!” 4:44:37 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I had the breathing problem too, Buddur. No comment about doobie smoke and paper bags. It was all ridiculous really (and well worth the pain)!” 4:49:37 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Light weight is a good description.” 4:53:24 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “actually, i have drank a few mouthfuls. i was supposed to be breathing fire with it. it was brutal.” 5:34:49 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Wicked thread deteriation” 5:46:14 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Sorry Tea! You shouldn't try any of these stunts at home, though. It will not help your pack weight and it may lead to a 911 scenario.” 6:04:05 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I have hiked with one of those ultralight psychos... He melted his wifes tupperware lid,ate out of a baggy with his fingers (cous-cous no less!) he even went barefoot or wore Tevas, once he suggested using plastic garbage bags as a water bag. Fortunately someone pointed out that this was "dangerous and irresponsible"....” 6:37:03 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Someone finally spelled Psychos for Tea. Write that down and keep it in your TT commonly used words and phrases notebook, okay, Tea.” 6:40:50 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Newgirl, if Tea had to right down the correct spelling for all his mistakes he would need a notepad the size of a 1979 Olds delta 88.” 6:44:03 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “hyper is right” 6:47:09 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Crack me up! We have to offer the guy a glimmer of hope though. If he starts now he'll be able to write that scholarship essay w/ fewer than 100 misspelled words per page.” 6:47:47 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “I don't plan on writing over 50 characters. LOL” 6:49:50 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Dang birch! That guy sounds dangerous. I'd avoid nuts like that. LOL!” 7:04:18 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “What guy?” 7:23:41 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Tea, Nigal was referring to the "mystery, wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in an Idiot" that I was hiking with.” 7:43:25 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “1979 olds Delta 88!!!! LMAO! My best friend has one named Quennie. That would be one huge notepad.” 8:42:47 PM 10/15/01 RE: Phyco Light weight ideas “Where I'm from we call PGA Jungle Juice. Here's a psycho lightweight idea: don't bring any food or a tent hiking. Go on a TT hike. See who shares or who just tries to get you drunk. Test the "we really are good people-we promise" theory. Psychos!” 11:23:53 PM 10/16/01
