RE: Worst On-Trail Injury
Tea, I hope someone removed a corner of your Totin' Chit for that. You have earned your Totin' Chit, haven't you?

He'd better. He's an OA member and you have to at least be 1st Class for that.

Tea I hope that was with the dull side.

I got a grade 3 shoulder separation when I crashed on my mountain bike a few miles into the woods behind our house. I got home on my own and drove myself to the emergency room. The bone still protrudes somewhat from my shoulder.

It really did hurt and I had to sleep in a chair for the first few nights.

RE: Worst On-Trail Injury
We were on our last leg of the trail and in view of the car. My pack must have weighed 70 lbs. Are trip was cut short because of snow and we were heading somewhere else.
I was coming down the hill to fast and couldn't stop. At full speed down a hill I finally ate it. I ended up breaking my wrist in 3 spots and fracturing my ankle. I had a leg and arm cast on for 6 weeks.

RE: Worst On-Trail Injury
Nothing too serious, at least nothing to keep me from enjoying the rest of any trips.

In '99, I was 6 days into a 23 day trip. After spending 3 days at Bench Lake (1 day waiting out a storm) we decided to descend the Murro Blanco. We were about 2 miles into the canyon, AND THEN IT HAPPENED, I stepped wrong onto some tricky footing and heard a loud pop. It was my ankle and unbeknownst to me at the time, it was broken. There was no way to get a helicopter in or even a horse for that matter so I had to hike out and we hadn't even got to the tough Murro Blanco terrain. I was OK the rest of the trip as long as I kept my foot aligned. One week later I joined in on the 1st Llama hike, broken ankle and all.

Another time I was car camping and 4 wheeling in Mendocino National Forest. I was cooking breakfast, slicing some English Muffins, AND THEN IT HAPPENED, the knife slipped and went completely through my hand, yes completely through. I didn't know that at the time but the doc said the only thing keeping it from poking out the other side was my skin. It did cause some permanent nerve damage.

I did the quicksand thing, got shot in the back and hips with buckshot, fell down a 40 some odd foot bluff, shallow water, deep clay broke my fall, broke four ribs, two fingers, jamed my neck, fell in a well, got struck by lightining,... oh,... and I caught myself in my zipper, that one about killed me!LOL
