Any KC hikers? “hey - i'm new to this board. i am in the Kansas City area and was wondering if there was any one else on here from this area? i'm having a hard time finding folks around here that are interested in the outdoors.” 6:41:43 PM 10/26/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “Welcome "Dorthey", and if I'm not mistaken you maybe the First from Kansas to chime in in awhile. So if you stay and become part of this freakin wacky group of trail ho's, We'll be one step closer to having all fifty states represented. That is according to this poll........ State roll call” 11:43:25 AM 10/27/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “There is another TT'er named running girl. And a hikergirl, mountaingirl, newgirl, adventuregirl, salmanellagirl and whatever. Nice to have you aboard. Kansas City is a great town, but I guess you have to drive a bit to get to a long trail.” 11:51:54 AM 10/27/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “poser” 12:11:21 PM 10/27/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “I am in Omaha, perhaps I could interest you in Indian Cave State Park at some point.” 1:55:35 PM 10/27/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “WHERE'S DUNADAN?? HE'S OUR MAN!! OUR KANSAS MAN!! (probably watching some dumb Big 8 Team play football) heheh” 4:01:45 PM 10/27/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “Big 8? Haven't you heard, we are now the Big Twelve?” 7:26:36 PM 10/27/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “Hello. I was away in CO, actually hiking! I had almost forgotten how you put one foot in front of the other on a hike. It was a great, but short, trip. Runner girl, bummer of a name. You might want to re-think that moniker for this site. Anyway....welcome. I am in Lawrence, home of the 2002 NCAA basketball champion Jayhawks! Be glad to talk about a walk with you. Write.” 10:33:44 AM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “I'm waiting.......” 10:54:57 AM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “I bet she won't come back because of the "Girlz" thread. Too bad, I have loads of family in the KC area and get out there occasionally.” 12:54:52 PM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “wow... i had no idea i picked such a terrible name! you guys are brutal! anyone know of any good trails around here to break in a new pair of boots? i am newbie to this...” 2:40:48 PM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “Nah, that was mild. You really want to avoid "brutal". Lots of us newbies on this site (me included). Are you a hiker or backpacker?” 3:19:24 PM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “Runner Girl. Glad you are back. I'm sorry if you thought I was mean regarding your TT name. I had to go through two names before I got the right one. I let the TT gang pick it. For trails close to you where you can break in a pair of boots, try the bigger lakes in the area. They have some nice day-hike trails. For some more extensive backpacking, try heading towards the Ozarks. Which side of the river are you on? KS (hooray!!!) or MO? Where did you move from? Click on my name and you can get my e-mail address.” 6:33:56 PM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “And Sassafrass. So, you get to the KC area, huh? One of these days us folks in this area (KC and Omaha) should get a group hike together and show some of the TT'ers around. Things could be brewing....” 6:38:42 PM 11/02/01 RE: Any KC hikers? “Hey that might just be the enticment I need to drag Birch out for a visit to my Grandma! Great Idea Dunaden. I'll work on it” 8:33:07 PM 11/02/01
