Tr. - probably another 3 days or so of cutting left. Since this is wilderness area all cutting is by hand tools.” 6:13:33 PM 10/28/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Biking swimming canoe kayak alpine ski nordic ski snow shoe cooking dining out uh..... do those last two count???” 7:08:47 PM 10/28/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Yes, HOI, I remember that St. Mary's Wilderness is one of Baume66's favorite places. My family and I are going there this spring. I finally found a map that shows some of the places that Baume mentioned to me last spring on TrailTalk. I went to get my Sven saw today, and dang it they were out! Have to look elsewhere or order it online. I signed up to do some trail maintenance in PA next spring, too. Did you ever have a problem with mountain laurel causing skin blisters? Steiny said onetime that he got a terrible rash from trail maint. cutting mtn laurel.” 7:20:03 PM 10/28/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Scoutmaster Art (paiting, drawing, graphic design) Web design (not just a hobby it's a paycheck too.) reading building Hot Rods music (haven't played in a while though) Cooking and Eating Long naps” 10:28:49 PM 10/28/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Snowboarding Photography Playing with my webpage Rock climbing Snowshoeing XC skiing Canoeing Offroad driving "wonder where this road goes?" With respect to the saw - I think that a non-backed saw is a better choice for general work - that is to say a saw that can cut and pass all the way through the cut to the other side without andy interference with a frame getting in the way. There was mention of a Japanese saw on another thread that looked like a good choice. BTW make real sure you are familiar with all the forms of poison ivy before doing any trail maintenance - including what it looks like without leaves (ie cinnamon colored bud) and what the vine looks like when it gets big (hairy until it gets really big then most hairs fall off). Hitting one of those vines with a saw can give one a serious rash (grin).” 8:14:22 AM 10/29/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Hey, just tried paintballing yesterday and I have to say that it is really fun. It doesn't really hurt as bad as you would think either (although I have a few welts from it today). Anyway, if you are not afraid to go into the backcountry for weeks on end, then there isno reason for you to be scared of a little paintball flying at you at 200 feet per second. I recomend that anybody who is remotley interested go out and play at least once.” 9:26:23 AM 10/29/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Photography Dog Sports - Agility - Tracking - Competitive Obedience” 9:57:01 AM 10/29/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Hunting, fishing, scuba diving, flying (old one now banned by the wife), Woodworking, home remodeling. whew, no wonder I never get to hike.” 11:09:46 AM 10/29/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Photography, blacksmithing, refinishing antiques, dutch oven cooking and grilling out, skiing, going to bluegrass festivals, and drinking beer” 11:23:07 AM 10/29/01 RE: Other Hobbies “Last winter I became the first on my lake to have a kayak.
