So far I only teach scouts and scout leaders. I received my certification in March of this year and I have not had the time to do anything on a large scale.

RE: Other Hobbies
LyndyS - actually lately I have been trying to just remove the blowdowns from Saint Marys Wilderness - after hiking there with Baume 66 I realized it was much better place to go than SNP when I want to get in some time alone with my saw (grin) - at the moment I am trying to finish up removing the blowdowns on Bald Mtn. Tr. - probably another 3 days or so of cutting left. Since this is wilderness area all cutting is by hand tools.

RE: Other Hobbies
Yes, HOI, I remember that St. Mary's Wilderness is one of Baume66's favorite places. My family and I are going there this spring. I finally found a map that shows some of the places that Baume mentioned to me last spring on TrailTalk.

I went to get my Sven saw today, and dang it they were out! Have to look elsewhere or order it online. I signed up to do some trail maintenance in PA next spring, too. Did you ever have a problem with mountain laurel causing skin blisters? Steiny said onetime that he got a terrible rash from trail maint. cutting mtn laurel.

RE: Other Hobbies
LyndyS - never had any problem with mtn. laurel - but then on the other hand I very rarely will cut any - only if it is in the way of cutting a blowdown. With respect to the saw - I think that a non-backed saw is a better choice for general work - that is to say a saw that can cut and pass all the way through the cut to the other side without andy interference with a frame getting in the way. There was mention of a Japanese saw on another thread that looked like a good choice. BTW make real sure you are familiar with all the forms of poison ivy before doing any trail maintenance - including what it looks like without leaves (ie cinnamon colored bud) and what the vine looks like when it gets big (hairy until it gets really big then most hairs fall off). Hitting one of those vines with a saw can give one a serious rash (grin).

RE: Other Hobbies
Hey, just tried paintballing yesterday and I have to say that it is really fun. It doesn't really hurt as bad as you would think either (although I have a few welts from it today). Anyway, if you are not afraid to go into the backcountry for weeks on end, then there isno reason for you to be scared of a little paintball flying at you at 200 feet per second. I recomend that anybody who is remotley interested go out and play at least once.

My hobby

Looking for naked pictures of Mel on the net.

There are tons of Naked Mel's on the net, like Mr. Blank, Mr. Tillis, Mr. Gibson, Mr. Brooks and that fat cook from the early '80s televised comedy, "Alice". But those don't match the lovely and talented posterior of our sweet and benevolent Mel

A friend of mine says that a person needs 3 hobbies and a dog. I have 3 dogs and a hobby.

Bob K - my main hobby these days is dog agility. I am training 2 of my dogs and spend an alarming amount of time and money doing this. It keeps me off the streets. Obediance doesn't interest any of us though.
