Marmot and Trail Artist's Wonderland pics
This last Late July and beginning of August we started out on the Wonderland Trail that goes around Mt. Rainier. Ou trip was cut short due to some bear troubles on the west side..However we had 6 full days of bliss..and here are the pictures from it. They are big files..I kept them that way for my own purposes and did not care to make two different copies.. so bear with it.. hope you enjoy...

TrailArtist and Marmot - y'all did a superb job with those picts. I felt like I could just walk right into anyone of those and be on your trip with you!

Just out of curiosity, what film speed/brand were you using? What about your camera SLR or point and shoot?

Thanks for sharing!

RE: Marmot and Trail Artist's Wonderland pics
Glad you all enjoyed them...
As for camera equipment...
2 cameras went. Pentax K1000 an all manual older model with a pentax 28-80 mm lens.

the other camera was a Minolta Vectis 40 a fancy APS point and shoot.

Film for the vectis was mainly Fuji Nexia 200.

The film for the SLR:
Agfa HDC+100 (no longer available..and never so in the US, mine came from Japan)
Agfa Optima II 100 (professional)
Fuji NPC 160 (professional)

All were color films... the roll of black and white that got shot on the Minolta has yet to appear.

The reason some of the sunrise shots look closer to a black and white is because of the speed of film the lighting and how I set them up (f-stops and shutter speed and all)

I was most pleased with the the SLR Fuji film on this trip.. it really brought out the variety of colors incredibly well.

BC Trail Guy: That is a mutual feeling from us... Marmot and I spend alot of the winter backcountry snowshoe backpacking..really our favorate time to go... if you are equipped for that kind of backpacking and interested...let us know...we could try to throw a group one together. Isn't the PNW great?!

Cool pictures! What was the elevation gain and loss like?

Wow, another small group of people who actually backpack here, how unique!

trailartist, those salmonberries look yellow in the photo. Did you eat those? Or were they really red and ripe?

RE: Marmot and Trail Artist's Wonderland pics
Trailartist- I'm good to go, for the snow camp idea, although I don't actually own any snowshoes. I'm sure a lot of southern TTers would find that hard to believe.
:-)

Keep me posted

RE: Marmot and Trail Artist's Wonderland pics
Very nice pics. I'd love to go with some TTers on a trip out there sometime.

You foaks in the Pacific Northwest need to plan more ECTs out there. Er ... WCTs, or PCTs, or PNWTs, or whatever.

Marmot & Trail Artist, those were great pictures. Like Phil, I also liked the last waterfall picture. The flower pics were great. You should enlarge some of them.
