“I had to say something. I'm so freakin annoyed by hotmail now. I'm sure you all have noticed that when you exit your hotmail, another MSN screen shows up. If you try to click on a bookmark or do anything else to circumvent getting the msn screen, it just jams up the computer. You have to let the damn thing load. Grrrrrrrrr.”

“The pastor of my wife?s church has a Hotmail account and he can?t delete spam without opening it first. He opened some kind of porn spam to delete it and the e mail contained something that changed his ?home? site to the porn site the e mail was spamming. Even though he has a filter the change happened and the next person to use the computer was his 8 year old daughter. He was less than humored. I used to have an account there but wanted to dump it and found that there is no way to delete your account. You just have to let it sit there and rot until it dies.”

“If you want out of hotmail just turn off cookies and try to bring up a screen, any screen. It will kick you out, and untill you turn your cookies back on, you can't get back in.

I haven't had a problem with spam. But, I keep cookies, java, and javascript turned off unless I really need them. It seems to help.”

In the past week I've received 187 solicitations on my hotmail account. Anyone need to consoidate their debt, use a natural form of viagra, become irresistable to the opposite sex or increase the size of their pen!s? I can make some referrals.”

“Personally I use a freeware program called E-Prompter to retrieve all of my emails. Those I wish to actually download into Outlook, I can still do so. Otherwise, I just let my E-Prompter delete them the next time it checks for email. That goes for Hotmail as well as all my pop3 accounts. Oh yes, it also logs on and checks your email for you automatically on any schedule you choose.”

“If you have a Hotmail account, they have pulled a fast one on us.

Sign into your account, click on “Options,” then “Personal Profile”. You’ll notice two checked boxes giving them permission to “Share my e-mail address” and “Share my other registration information” even if you explicitly told Microsoft not to do so when you signed up!

“Yeah I noticed them last week and nixed them. That really cheeses me off. Even Yahoo had the courtesy to notify their customers. Of course, I only use my hotmail account as a junk mail receptacle now that they lowered the space so ridiculously.”

“You need to check updates to terms and conditions every once and awhile. That's how banks and other companies pull over stuff on you by changing the TnC's.

It's hard to keep up with on purpose as insurance and financial instutitions are the only companies required by law to inform you of changes to the TnC's. (At least those are the only ones I know of that are required)”

“My first email account was a hotmail address, but due to the number of spam, I only use it as a "junk mail box." I dont see how people even stand to use it as their primary account. I was pissed when I first started receiving 100 spam email's a day and I emailed hotmail and made them aware of my anger. I told them that I didnt appreciate them selling my email address and they replied with, "we never sell email addresses." But I guess they get us by checking approval boxes. I just hope nobody ever gives in and gives them money. Screw them! Just use them when you need a fake address!”

My one hotmail account was getting spam, and because that acount has my real age linked to it I never got any porno spam, but Im getting spam that tells me how to grow muscles and get big, or lose weight.”

“More people have trouble with their Hotmail accounts than anything else I've ever seen. I tried to send email to my stepbrother's Hotmail address this weekend. After 3 tries and three bounces, I gave up. I couldn't tell from the message if the address didn't exist, or if his mailbox was full, or what. I'll have to contact him by phone to straighten this out. Ugh. Hate the phone even worse.”
