Others that I can't remember. Ebay has used gear and new gear for sale. People here on TT frequently sell used gear, especially bpbaby, who had made it into a cottage industry. REI.Outlet.com has some great sales, same for Campmor.com., NorthernMountain.com, SierraTrading.com, and some other places. A lot of people buy some stuff at army surplus stores.”

“Check your local outfitters for when they sell off their rental gear. Its a little beat up, but IMHO its better than buying new gear for the same cost.”

“I feel your pain. Check out some sites that sell used gear. Alot of people don't hang with this outdoor stuff for long and then dump their gear for cheap.

“You don't need high price gear to have fun,, check out some of the older threads here like the pepsi can or Sgt. Rock's alcohol stoves, and others. Good Gear doesn't have to have fancy labels to work good,,just make sure you get what's good to you,, check out the flea markets for deals too,, you'd be surprised what's out there! I snagged a military rucksack made by Lowe for $5,, it's a bit heavy for most of my hiking, but plenty of room when I need it. Lokk around and you'll find similar deals around.”

1. pack mule
2. sorry wrong list
3. winter sleepin bag (prefer mummy)
4. two person all season tent.
5. one burner stove. (gas, never done alcohol)
These items went the way of the dodo oops I mean ex-wife. can't get all at once.”
