“well Splash its easier these days - if I drink I can't hike because of gout causing my feet to give me heck - and I really like to hike - it does lead to some awkwardness however for example the end of the Mt. Rogers hike - I was the first to drive away because I didn't feel comfortable around the rest of the people who were mostly having a nice after hike beer (sigh).”

“You have to hike with us then, HOI. On the three hikes there was no drinking at the end parking lot. There was some drinking at some of the evening campfires, but not everyone partook and those that did only drank a little. We did have a lot of fun joking around, though.”

That was on top of 3 or 4 Alaskan Ambers. Just as I was reminding myself that shots are a recipe for disaster, the owner gave me a shot of his best whiskey and proudly stood by as I downed it. Luckily, that was it! Sunday morning dawned clear and hangover-free!”
