You're trying to hide the tracks of your net use that are on your PC, but if you are at work, everything you do on the net is going through a firewall, and other assorted software. Most likely, your employer has a complete trail of every site you go to, how often, etc. And you have no way of deleting it.

Changing the address drop-downs and erasing the history just removes your trail on your PC. If your employer wants to see where you've been, they don't need to see your PC at all.”

Use a web mail account instead of your corporate email system.

Some companies only backup once a day or week. Email that is downloaded and deleted the same day sometimes does not get backed up. Put sensitive email immediately on a disk and take it home with you -- don't leave it in your desk. A floppy at home is harder to subpoena than one at the office.
