“I just got a HUGE packet of maps from the MiDNR. Prolly 20 of em, the best part they were free! How does your DNR/Fish and Game/FWS rate?”

“I called the DNR station for Mackinaw State forest,told em I was a bper and said please send any maps you can. One costs $4 payable to the Pigeon River Trail Association. The DNR is really cool about this stuff,plus it only took 5 days!”

I FINALLY downloaded my MAPTECH program of Isle Royale Nation Park. Way cool!! You'll have it on your computer within the next couple of months, birch. After all, Sassafrass and I have to start planning. :o)”

There are more beautiful places to go than we have time and money for, so go where you can. We'll have trip reports and pictures so that you can enjoy it vicariously.

I have a good friend who lives in Northport, north of Traverse City. I tried to get him to come down for a concert tommorrow night...but no can do.”

“Next summer. It's the slow season for my job and I need to take a whole week off.

We still haven't set a date. Just spoke with Sassafrass today and that is our next decision. We can study the maps and get excited all winter but she suggested that we decide where we're going to hike while we ride the boat over to the island. Gotta love us spontaneous women! :o)”

“I got a shipload of maps and pamplets from the Ga Chamber of Commerce many years ago. They sent me everything they had pertaining to canoeing and hiking in the Peach State - all because I asked.”
