The thing that really sticks out to me is the contrast between the capacity for human cruelty folks have then the getting along by the kindness of strangers. The tale seems to alternate between these two extremes.” 9:36:54 AM 9/07/04 “Movies like Cold Mountain really make me think. It just seems so inconceivable that people can have such little regard for other’s lives and can show such brutality. It’s quite disturbing.” 9:46:23 AM 9/07/04 “My wife actually HATED hero.. heh.. put it right up there with Godzilla.. :)” 9:50:00 AM 9/07/04 “I've read some Revolutionary War stuff and supposedly, stuff that took place thin makes the Civil War look tame.” 10:04:26 AM 9/07/04 “I have always wondered what the favorite movie would be if it had to be over 5 years old. If you go to movie that really rocks your socks, that's gonna be your new favorite movie, til another comes along. That being said, I'm not sure what my favorite movie is. Star Trek II the Wrath of Khan, or one of the Alien movies... nawwwww!!! I know which one I really like. It is an irreverant movie, a musical to boot!! Even got Clint Eastwood in it, singing!!!: Paint Your Wagon. It's a hoot!” 12:04:56 PM 9/07/04 “Paint Your Wagon is a lot of fun.” 12:06:24 PM 9/07/04 “I'm not sure what my favorit movie is. Saving Private Ryan My Blue Heaven The Usual Suspects Those are a few that come to mind.” 12:09:26 PM 9/07/04 “Lord of the Rings if you consider all three as one movie. If not, Dances With Wolves.” 12:10:56 PM 9/07/04 “usual suspects is awesome. so is LOTR and DWW” 12:14:19 PM 9/07/04 “Well, let's see. I'm a Bogart fan, so Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon are right up there. Big Hitchcock fan too, my favorite of his is Vertigo, although North By Northwest and Rear Window are also right up there. And of course, as most of you know, I love Monty Python, and my fave of theirs is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So that's probably my top 6. Others include movies like In Harm's Way, The Manchurian Candidate (original of course), Blazing Saddles, A Fistful of Dollars, and The Outlaw Josey Wales.” 12:15:00 PM 9/07/04 “How could I forget LOTR and DWW? My favorite book is Lonesome Dove, and I know lots of folks love the movie, but it just doesn't measure up after you've read the book a time or two. The Game is one I should've listed.” 12:17:36 PM 9/07/04 “Anyone here seen "Steppenwolf"? I know that many have read the book, but the movie, with Max Von Sydow in it, is as close to the book as any movie that I've ever seen.” 2:02:41 PM 9/07/04 “"A River Runs Through It" is one of my favorites. After it came out, Orvis (the flyfishing gear co.) saw its sales go up tremendously. It also started me on the path to learn flyfishing. One of my favorite comedies is "Goin' South". It is Jack Nicholson's first shot at directing and one of John Belushi's last films.” 3:48:02 PM 9/07/04 “My favorites don’t change too much. If I buy the thing on DVD it’s pretty much on the list for life. Beetlejuice Titanic Star Wars Brotherhood of the wolf Crouching Tiger” 3:52:11 PM 9/07/04 “Titanic? What, are you a 13-year-old girl?” 3:53:57 PM 9/07/04 Iron Monkey on DVD “TownDawq, one of my employees didn't like "Hero" either..although he liked "Crouching Tiger...." and "Iron Monkey". Kung Fu film fans should check out "Iron Monkey". I overheard a lady sitting 2 seats next to me, tell her friend she fell asleep during the film (Hero). Guess it's different strokes for different folks.” 3:54:28 PM 9/07/04 “"Titanic? What, are you a 13-year-old girl?" I knew that was coming...” 3:56:06 PM 9/07/04 “He bought it for the 0.5 second scene when the painting was made.” 4:11:17 PM 9/07/04 “Hey, it was a great movie. Great direction, great effects, great story, it was all great. The fact there just happens to be a pretty naked girl in the middle of it all at exactly 1:32:12 into it means very little to the overall enjoyment of the film.” 4:14:14 PM 9/07/04 “Maybe the DVD has an extended version of that or something, maybe an outtake reel during the filming of that scene. Rolling! Oh wait, sorry Kate, lighting was wrong. Rolling...Oh wait, damn, hair in the trap, let's go again...take number 293... Rolling...cut! OK, well, hang on..what's that? Makeup! Fix her lips...okay....one more time Kate, promise this will be the last...” 4:16:21 PM 9/07/04 “Why do I not doubt that you listed the correct time?” 4:16:23 PM 9/07/04 “Seven Samurai.” 4:18:32 PM 9/07/04 “Stan Lee: I can't say I had same reaction as wife. It struck me as artsy, VERY eastern influenced with incredible cinematography.. struck by the use of colour and imagery several times.. but the subtitles.. for me?.. were a bit bothersome for me at times... trying to KEEP UP.” 12:04:10 AM 9/08/04 “anything Quentin Terrintino (sp?) kicks royal ass. From whay I hear Scorch loves Monty Python movies” 12:16:36 AM 9/08/04 “she sure does” 12:45:48 AM 9/08/04 “Chocolate`, no question. I spit on your American films, pitooey!” 6:06:11 AM 9/08/04 “I haven't even seen the remake of the movie Titanic. I do rememeber the original movie made in 1953 with Clifton Webb, Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Wagner. There was also another movie about the Titanic called A Night to Remember. Both of them are good.” 10:49:11 AM 9/08/04 “My fav of all time is Immortal Beloved with Gary Oldman.” 1:26:31 PM 9/08/04
