Favorite movie

“I finally watched Cold Mountain this weekend. I've read the book twice. The thing that really sticks out to me is the contrast between the capacity for human cruelty folks have then the getting along by the kindness of strangers. The tale seems to alternate between these two extremes.”

“Well, let's see. I'm a Bogart fan, so Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon are right up there. Big Hitchcock fan too, my favorite of his is Vertigo, although North By Northwest and Rear Window are also right up there. And of course, as most of you know, I love Monty Python, and my fave of theirs is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

So that's probably my top 6. Others include movies like In Harm's Way, The Manchurian Candidate (original of course), Blazing Saddles, A Fistful of Dollars, and The Outlaw Josey Wales.”

“I haven't even seen the remake of the movie Titanic. I do rememeber the original movie made in 1953 with Clifton Webb, Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Wagner. There was also another movie about the Titanic called A Night to Remember.

Both of them are good.”
