Thanks a lot Nigal!

I tried that stupid turkey stunt. Why didn't you mention you have to defrost the bird first?!! Ever lick an ice cube tray? All the butter in the world won't stop that. I look ridiculous now.

RE: Learning thread
Now we are back to the subject of the alchemical kitchen and the preparation of the secret elixir from the fountain of youth.

This Chef would apply Sage butter gently and thoroughly to all surfaces of the perfect Bird. Ever nook and cranny should be well seasoned. The oven should be prepared at high heat so that all the juices can be sealed in. I then fill the cavity with savory stuffing, adjust the oven temperature and tend carefully to lengthy cooking required for the grandest of birds.

Thanksgiving festivities lackmagick when self-basters are used.

The perfect bird should be gently and thoroughly rubbed with Sage butter, and gently stuffed by Chef. h Sage butter and filled with freshlGently stuffed and well tended.
No self basting Turkeys here.

Yer gonna make a lyre out me yet.
