I make an awesome cream-based soup with chicken, pasta, fresh spinach and carrots. It makes my 12 year old gag, but everyone else loves it.

Bean w/bacon or split pea with ham, both done thick.

Best soup I had in China was duck and pickle -- and that meant a whole duck in the tureen.

I love chowders. Minestrone and hot and sour are great too. I make a mean roasted red pepper and crab soup. Then there are yummy cold soups, chilled avacado cream soup. I could go on and on...

Okay, now look at what you've started. I'm hungry for soup!

Chicken and vegetable soup, with a little smoked sausage added for more flavor. I got a bunch o' veggies ready to go in the pot; carrots, onions, turnip, rutabega, parsnip, savoy cabbage, spinach, corn, celery, peas, beans, roasted garlic, potato, lots of herbs and a few sweet peppers from the garden, a sweet potato Laurel just dug up in the yard, a little fresh lemon juice from the tree on my porch, and whatever else I can find around the house and yard that's edible and tasty. Oh yeah- it's malabar spinach from the yard too; it's a semitropical vine that's darned good and self seeds like mad.

I made a hot & sour Thai soup before that was really good! As for canned soup, I looooove Muir Glen tomato. It is so good, I can't even believe it! I think it has crack in it or something. Organic crack.

I like all of the Bear Creek soups. Easy to prepare and other than adding some beef, chicken or pork, there is nothing else to do.

The potato soup is really good with diced summer sausage.
