hiking the lost coast

“hey guys i just got back fron an awsome trip. ever hike the lost coast?? its GREAT!”

“for every 8 miles its like seven miles of beach hiking! Its soooo quiet and pretty.....a tad wet though, i'm all moldy mow LOL”

“Where is this place?”

“californa near mendecino”

“saw bears and tons of elk!”

“Details please - did you go north to south? did you have to do an awful car shuttle? how much of it did you do? I car camped there a few years ago and swore I would go again.”

“i did about 30 miles of it going north... i hitched a ride there and back...lots of nice hippys out here”

“I've done chunks of it. It's great. Now is a little rainy up there tho. September is a nice time to go. Before all those Humboldt State freaks get back in session!”

“Great vixtrix. Did you take any pics? I'm going to the Olympic peninsula in a couple weeks and it will probably be pretty similar, maybe rainier though.

Post some pics if you took em.”

“I wanna get back there again. Hike the redwoods and coast, pick up some Humboldt and maybe a stray mushroom or two (grin).

How long were you out? Did you use a tent or tarp?”

“tent it was all rainy!

4 days not to long i was taking it easy”

“Think you coulda used a tarp, properly pitched? That's what I plan to bring to the Olympics. How about your bag, synthetic or down? Manage to stay dry and comfortable (after changing clothes) while in camp?”

“iwas never dry...brrrr!
all i have is a synthetic and im a cold sleeper”

“Seems that we swiped your quarterback vixtrix. He's doing great. How long could the hike be? Do you pass towns or anything? I am not far away and would love to do about a 3 day trip in the area next spring.”
