How Many Times Have you Flown Since 9/11 ?

“I have flown 4 times since Sept. 11

I wasn't afraid until an A300 lost it's tail fin this week...and I am in the composites business. Anybody else afraid to fly?”

“I'd fly and not worry. The last time I flew was 9-8-01. From Newark.”

“I have flown twice. Do you want to live forever?”

“Once, about 2 weeks after the tragedy. I was probably safer there than anywhere else.”

“Twice. Can't say I enjoyed it very much.”

“Flying has never bothered me, and never will. Flying will always be much safer than driving or crossing the street. It's so safe that when there's a plane wreck, it makes the national news.

Sept. 11 doesn't change that. If anything the skies are probably safer now with stepped up security. Not as safe as Israel, but still much safer than other forms of transport.

Got a super $200 round trip to Seattle for a couple weeks from now. Won't worry about a thing till we land.”

“BTW my reference to Israel is to El Al, their airline that has very effective security. Wasn't talking about safety on the ground there.”

“To Chicago & back Oct 26-28. Broke my chain of consecutive weekends out in the wilderness....8(

First time flying alone, but seeing places I'd been from above was kinda cool.”

“O'Hare...I must've looked lost, cuz everyone kept asking me if I needed help! I can hike mountains, but walking around downtown Chicago, my feet were killing me in the city! (so we took a cab)”

I live about 15 miles from O'Hare. I don't go into Chicago very often. I'm more of a country girl. Even the suburbs where I live is way to "civilized" for me!”

“Zero, checked into fares to go to Hotlanta next week but they were still tooo expensive! I'd rather fly thandrive twelve hours with at nine mo old!!!!!!!

Small planes are much funner than airliners. I've flown through a thunderstorm in a six seater. It was awesome!!!!! You have to trust your pilot.”

“Muktuk.... which way from O'Hare? I have friends about 15 miles from O'Hare and get out there every so often. (am in NE Iowa myself... like 4.5 hours away)”

“Twice- Honolulu and Seattle. They misspelled my name in the computer on the Hawaii trip and couldn't find it even though I had paper tickets. They found some seats for me but, since I was ticketed late they put me on a "designated ticketed passenger" list. I was to be subject to searches at the gates at all my connecting flights. The body pat-downs and frisking was OK until San Francisco.”

“Four times. Leaving Monday for Chicago and have to fly to Washington, D.C. early December. The delay is worth it if it improves safety.”

“lizs- I had to check Mapquest 'cause I really wasn't TOO sure about that distance--just guessing. I guess it's closer to 30 miles. I live in Alonquin. We take I-90 East to get there.

Where do your friends live? A friend of mine is FROM Iowa, but has lived here for many years now.”

“Not sure, lizs. I know she was raised on a farm. I will ask next time I talk to her, if I remember.

Are you anywhere near Galena, Illinois?”

“I'm probably at least 1.5-2 hours from there. I think Dubuque is over an hour for me.

I was gonna look up your town on a map, but haven't gotten it done yet. :-)”

I have a basic mistrust in heavier than air machines.

I flew for the last time in '88. By that time, I'd had enough.

Flying out of where I live is scary enough.

Tiny little planes, huge mountains, amazing turbulence, rotten weather conditions...

And then I spent two different, 18 hour, one way trips from NY to Africa.

Try doing that during the monsoon season with water running into the airplane and down under the seats, between your legs.

Damn plane is undulating like a roller coaster....

I said I was never going to fly again.
