TT'ers On The AT

“It would be helpful to me, if I knew which sections of the AT you guys have done.. specifically.. so at sometime when I DO get to hike different sections.. I would have some clue who to ask about it..

My experience so far is limited to all 70 miles inside of GSMNP, and bits and pieces outside of that.. mostly in TN.. some in NC and GA.. but VERY little.. maybe 125miles total?”

“sections. i hike almost every weekend. if it ain't on a group trip, i head to the mountains or AT, near here.”

“that's kewl.. so u prolly know the GA parts the best?.. have you done the part that WD wants to do in March? .. I wanna do Tray MT for sure.. I have heard some good stories of how cold that place is in March.”

“yeah, there's alot of better sections than that tray and rocky mtn area, but it's part of the trail, so folks feel like they need to hike it.”

“really. hMmm.. so what places in GA do you recommend..?”

“nowhere! it's dirty and yucky!

“I've hiked some of VA, half of PA & NJ, some of NY and Conn., all of Vermont several times , and parts of NH and Maine.

Like GA, it is all pretty yucky and you should avoid it, particularly Vermont.”

“Tarpy hiked on the AT in NH, VT, and ME last weekend, the pictures are gorgeous, and you should definitely stay away from there, as well.
