“has anyone tried the tuna in foil pouches on B'P'ing trips ? if so what was your opinion as to taste and ease of use as compared to cans ?”

“yepper, it was really good! i thought it tasted just like the tuna in the can...except we accidentally got tuna in oil (instead of water), which i usually think is pretty disgusting, but i was really hungry, so it tasted good. really easy to carry, too! we put it on pita bread. next time, i would bring packets of mayo & relish.”

“Luv it! I get the 3 oz pouches, add a packet of mayo & relish. Spread it on crackers or a tortilla, or on dayhikes I use bread.”

“I found it to be a little dry and harder to break up in noodles & sauce. Still beats the weight of cans.

It's the same as canned when mixed with mayo for sandwiches.”

“Starkist's "Tuna Creations" in the flavor fresh pouch. Our little local grocery store just started stocking these delicous delights. I just bought the Hickory smoked flavor. UMMMMMM good!

They where new to my store, but They may be new to the market?
There was about 4-6 diff flavors I dont remember them all... I saw the "hickory" flavor and grabbed it with some regular ones... just to try. Dude it is wicked good. The hickory is not at all over powering with hickory just right...
I will go back tomorrow and or over the weekend and write down the other flavors.... if you want i could grab ya one and fire it the mail for ya to try....MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM-good!”

“The diff flavors have been out for at least a year now. I took them along on a recent 5 day hike. I like them on a tortilla with some mayo and dried apples.

I'm not real sure where tuna is on the list. Keep it in moderation and you prolly won't have any problems.

I do know tha there in the land of the Great Lakes, they have been telling us for many, many years that preggers should not eat the G.L. perch, due to the Mercury content.
