Antone know anything about...
Birch picked me up a new sleeping bag but I've never heard of the brand and am sorta nervous about it. It's made by Woods, a Canandian company I think. Anyone have any idea what I'm getting? Good stuff or junk?

Woods is like the Canadian version of Slumberjack.

I'll call him asap! Thanks Cow Patty. It sounded too good to be true! It was rolled for who knows how long into a tiny tiny stuff sack and weighs only two pounds. Doesn't seem like much for a 25* bag.

Yeah, really. He said he was going to try to fluff it up and see how it was. BTW, I'm not sure who Antone is, was really trying for "Anyone".

Thanks for your advice!!!!

The bags I've seen of that brand have some cotton in the lining and the fill is one regarded as not very durable or lofty (if I remember correctly - LiteLoft?). What sorta bag ya lookin for, Sassy?

It is that Liteloft stuff. Has thinsulate too.

Just a 20* or so that's light, small when packed and warm (I sleep cold BRRRR). I don't have any brand preference. One of these days I'll find a deal and snap one up. Birch paid $70 for the Woods one. Would've been a bargaing if it was any good. It's on it's way back to Jay's right now. LOL, You cracked me up when you posted that CP!

Sorry, just a little giddy here: it's brown & down with 8 points. Going to the check station & then processer shortly. All that corn he helped himself to all summer & fall ought to add to the flavor!

Hey, times are rough. Just took a BIG pay cut. It's the thought that counts and he did call to see what I thought before coming home!!!!! You gotta give him credit for trying.

Sassafras,
I just ordered a Slumberjack Deelite 20* bag from Campmor for $59.97. Reviews say it is a good bag for the bucks. I'll let you know for sure soon.

The North Face Thunderhead. 20 deg., Polarguard 3D, 2lbs 15 oz., $89.

Polarguard 3D is about as good as it gets sythetic (in my opinion). I have a Mountain Hardwear 3D, 15 deg. bag and I have stayed warm while wet at 35 deg. and warm while only under a tarp at 17 deg.
It compresses nice, fluffs right back up and dries quickly. running girl has a Sierra Designs 3D 15 deg. womens bag and it seems to be made pretty nice.
