Where are you located? In SE Minnesota their first buck season was awful. Too warm ... and a lot of corn still standing when it started. A lot of people weren't getting their buck.

However, there are a ton of deer. Should be good for them in the next two seasons. And I believe the one here in Iowa starts Dec. 1. (When I make darn sure I don't wear anything fluffy and brown/white to get the mail. LOL)”

There are more deer taken by hunters yearly than existed in this whole state 40 years ago ( along with the ~ 80,000 car vehicle encounters yearly). Sass isn't kidding about that 1.8M or more roaming around.

We're just keeping the antlers (can't say 'rack' with this crowd!), the DNR has the head for Tb surveillance use. And keeping the venison, of course.”
