Took my brother to REI

“He's really wants to get more into backpacking so I met him this afternoon and we went to REI. He got:
A Down bag
Z-Rest pad
New cartridge for his water filter
& several odds & ends

He spent over $240. What a happy camper he is now. :@)

I got out of REI and only spent about $10.
After REI we went to Academy Sports and I wound up buying a Flat Iron backpack by Rokk. Seems like it'll be a nice pack. 3600 ci. I got a little modifying to do to it first though. I'll take it to Fiery Gizzard in December and break it in.”

“So what does it weigh???”

“The hood could be taken off to be used as a fanny pack so I cut the webbing & buckle out of it. Also got a little for strap trimming to do.
After all that, it will weigh a tad over 3 pounds.”
