These guys aren't really Trolls.

Trolling is the art of injecting a comment into a newsgroup that, on the surface, could be seen as highly inflammatory. However, if careful attention is given, the "troll" can be seen for what it is.....an extremely clever ruse to snare the unwary. The worst that happens is a good flamewar. No competent Troll will impersonate other users....they don't need to. They can start a spirited argument with nothing more than wit and timing.

These idiots who simply try to take over newsgroups are of a different sort. Once they find they're being ignored, or as is common, on the losing end of an argument, they quickly assume identities of newsgroup regulars, and proceed to throw out lame insults. If anyone should reply, they squeal "YOU REPLIED!!! SPNAK!!!" or they will impersonate you. I'm sure this
carries immense weight with them in their little circle, but the rest of the net is laughing at them."
