MAAAAAAAAT! It's TOO YUPPIE!View Messages“White Trash: Is owned by three or four mangy starving dogs, is functionally illiterate, lives in a ramshackle house with a porch down on one end, has at least two junked cars in the front yard - up on cinder blocks, has a sprung mattress out back in the weeds, a rusted , tweaked TV antenna hanging off the roof, a cracked abandoned commode leaning against the front of the ramshackle house with daisys planted in the bowl, rusted Buckhorn beer cans regurgitating themselves out of every open doorsill, and when his holey, run up the ass dingy grey jockey shorts get too mnay skid marks on the inside, he turns them inside out and wears them that way. Oh, and he rarely bathes, shaves, brushes his teeth, and he worships the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, and WWW. And he watched cartoons.” 9:24:41 PM 11/26/01 “mel, how do you know my neighbor?” 9:33:19 PM 11/26/01 “I think Matt has deleted the White font thread ....so all is back to normal.” 9:37:03 PM 11/26/01 “It's still there it's just fixed. Thanks Matt!” 9:41:27 PM 11/26/01 9:43:10 PM 11/26/01 “A milder white would be nice-” 8:05:25 AM 11/27/01 “That grey background on the last 10 posters list is nice.” 8:09:39 AM 11/27/01 “in the account info, it says "State you of residence." did Matt get Tea to edit the new TT? ;-)” 9:42:26 AM 11/27/01 “Hey, I like the new format. In fact there are only two tihngs that I would like to see added. A preview button so we can preview our posts to make sure teh HTML is right and a feature to search posts for users (or add a posting history to the member info page).” 10:19:25 AM 11/27/01 “Maybe Matt is Ice Tea....LOL!” 10:19:31 AM 11/27/01 “LMBO!” 10:22:11 AM 11/27/01 “mel- Have you been to West Virginia....??? I like the idea that the white background makes it harder to tell that we are not working! When my kin left West Virginia the trailer had not yet been invented. Those folks did however have hosses and some other modern conveniences.” 10:26:11 AM 11/27/01 “good idea, deathmarch! i always wish i could see whether or not my HTML will work. oh right, they never do, haha. Matt couldn't be a 45-year-old FBI agent, he'd never have time to do this site.” 10:33:35 AM 11/27/01 “Now I know why we have the little brown quote marks around what we write. There are no deliniating margins, or a color to act as such. things without anchors, float” 10:58:21 AM 11/27/01 “Why do I have to hit refresh on every page to see the new posts? I don't like this change. What was wrong with the old TT? I don't see anything new of value.” 11:22:08 AM 11/27/01 Too Many Icons “How come the "Sections" Icons have to be shown twice? The way I see it once is enought. That leaves 8 les icons to have to redraw every time.” 11:26:45 AM 11/27/01 “IMO, blaming the icons for slow loading is a red herring. each section icon is less than 400 bytes, and most icons are less than 200 bytes. this seems pretty minimal to me.” 11:36:15 AM 11/27/01 “Then why is it so slow to reload? This is the slowest site I visit.” 11:42:28 AM 11/27/01 “I will throw a little light on the subject. The graphics are not the problem with the slow loading. From what I can track down, it is the new database I am using. TT is very database intensive, and that is what is causing the slow down for the main TT page. You can check this out yourself by looking at some of the other pages like articles or gear. I will keep working on the database. For you tech weenies, I moved the website to a dedicated Red Hat server, so I am now using MySQL. The old site was on a shared host and used SQL Server. So of course the performance of MySQL will be a little less than SQL Server.” 1:34:11 PM 11/27/01 “huh, huh huh,huh huh,huh matt said weenies” 2:01:36 PM 11/27/01 “Matt-- Wait . . .don't go. Quick one. The old system used to "refresh" automatically for me. A peculiar thing. I don't often log in, only if I want to say something. I just check the board and cruise on through. Now when I check in, (having logged off internet explorer and back on) the site is "frozen" where I last saw it. In order to see the new threads that have posted in the intervening 2 hours I have to hit my refresh button. Not a biggie. It just adds a couple of minutes to my trip through. Any thoughts?” 2:57:31 PM 11/27/01 “Matt-- Wait . . .don't go. Quick one. The old system used to "refresh" automatically for me. A peculiar thing. I stayed logged in this time. When I came back it had not refreshed itself. Stuck at 3:00pm, my lat visit. Also. Doesn't seem to have saved my preferences for the 1 day viewing. Am now seeing 3 days again.” 4:43:41 PM 11/27/01 “I noticed that too. when I logged off last night I was set to two days. When I went to the website this am it went back to three days, until I logged in. Then it went to two days. Changed to one day but not much improvement.” 4:48:48 PM 11/27/01
