“The number 1 team so far is a Marine Gunny and an Army Captain from a Ranger Training Battalion. Cool duo.”

“They sure do. Did you see the winners? Two OLD 2nd Liutenants. They said it was their 5th time in the competition. They must be prior service.”

“no i meant the ranger challenge. those treads were definitely not standard issue.”

“Most likely you were loking at Altama. They are a standard Jungle boot that has the shank removed and the tred replaced by a vibram sole. It seems to be the "In" thing these days. I really didn't notice what they were wearing.

“NO WAY they actually have *trained* people participating in a Reality Show???

“&$#&$%& I missed it! Two guys from my Platoon participated while I was in. Their sole job was to train for six months. They ran,swam,hiked,lifted weight etc...everyday that's it. We did a battalion 10 mile run with 800 guys. The group stretched forever, the guys training ran literal laps around the 800 man formation for the entire 10 miles,who knows how far they ran....Thye lost too. Actually one guy got second but still.”

“Is this show just a one time deal or can I catch it on the ESPN listings some other time?”

“Actually that one was a rerun. I remember watching it about 6 months ago but then I only caught the very end. When I saw who the winners were it came back to me. So you might be able to catch it again, or you might even catch the 2001 challenge.”

“Looks like this is on again - but on OLN (Outdoor Living Network) tonight at 8:00.”
