Anyone know of a good place to sell off excess gear over the Internet? eBay will ding me a few bones per listed item.

There's just waaay too much stuff here. Need to make room for more, LOL.

Sick, I know.

SnowDude and I were talking about that this weekend. We just got new packs early this year, and we're talking about new packs for next year! Yes, we're sick...

Two options,

1. eBay is great! Even with what they take off I have made much more money than expected on old gear. You wouldn't believe what people are willing to pay providing you present the item for auction with a nice pic.

2. Donate the old gear to the BSA or a charity.

Just start a thread here to advertise what you have. Take pictures and give discriptions of what you have. The old thebackpacker.com site used to have a classified section. Don't know if it ever got any attention though.
I suggest ya just start a thread.

Many backpacking sites have buy/sell/trade options.

**That being said**

You have my attention. Whatcha got, what condition's it in, and how much ya want for it?

Sell it here. I personally avoid buying stuff "sight unseen" but I wouldn't hesitate purchasing from a TTer I knew. I got screwed on an eBay purchase. The guy sent the stuff but most of it was CRAP! The Optimus stove was good but evrything else was given to goodwill.Whatcha got?

I've sold a lot of my excess gear to tt folks, as a matter of a fact, that's how I ended up on this board. Everyone I have dealt with has been straight up and it has been a good experience. Don't hesitate to deal with these good folks!

All I have left now are a couple of 40 degree sleeping bags. If anyone is interested, let me know!

Nekkid- got your email and sent another one your way with more info.

Forgot to mention the canister has bright reflective tape around it. It's there to make it easier to find the canister after the bear has its way with it. Except the for the slobber residue, it's in great shape! LOL

wingding - Here's two axes to think about. They're light.

1.) Grivel Mont Blanc Air
Tech Racing
.

2.)Titan Mountain Sports
A mere $270 (ack!).

The Grivel has a nice feel. I've got a BD ArcLight (65cm) and it's just too heavy.

Have to go thru it. Not lightweight stuff, tho. Got a big garage, so things are thrown in boxes now. I'll try to get it together soon. What are you looking for?

I think we have 3 sets of chains that don't fit SUVs somewhere. Got a Gaz stove, Princeton tec headlamp, a few tents, but don't know what they are without looking at them. I think one is a NF 9 lb dome tent. Got a backpack down there, pd $230, used ~2 mo and decided I didn't like the fit. Got a DaKine daypack with snowboard straps, pd $80, hardly used. Got a 3rd (big) daypack. I'll check to see what's down there.

Nekkid!

I was wonderin' about that. Haven't heard from ya. The email is tekapo@mediaone.net. That's .net not .com.

Personal check is okay and I sent you a message about where to send it.

The mrs. is on me about sellin' off some of the gear. Pretty perilous deal, but when I told her it's to be sold to fund other gear, she then says: "Oh, okay." !

I've been thinking of EBaying my Paintball gun. I never use it, and it cost me a few bones for it, so I think if I sell a paintball package of the gun, hopper, mask, tank, and new barrel, I may make more money then I payed for it.

Cool man, we're square then. Just want the bear cannister tho, not the boot spikes. I'm really needing more of a whole foot kinda strap-on cramp. Check is on it's way bro!
