That makes me suspicious that possibly a keystroke logger or something like that is running on your system. Start up Spybot, get updates, and run a scan and see if it finds anything.

What about my sound? I am serious. I have no sound at all.

When did it stop working?

Also, check the master volume settings by double-clicking on the speaker in the in-tray, next to the clock. It could be turned down all the way there.

It stopped working after I installed Norton hardware and replaced a fan inside.

Did you unplug your speakers when you changed the fan? If so, you may have plugged them into the wrong jack, or possibly not pushed the plug in all the way. Make sure the plug is firmly seated all the way in the correct jack.

I did all that, Bit. It's in the right spot. It even has a little picture next to the right jack so blondes like me can't miss it.

OK, that shouldn't have had any effect.

Did you check the master volume?

You may have to open your computer again and see if you knocked any wires loose, or if your sound card is separate card plugged into the bus, you may have knocked it a little loose. If so, firmly re-seat it in its slot.

You might also check your hardware profile and see if it thinks the sound card is actually working.
