I believe it does. The specific benefit may depend on whether they get a hit or a hit with a purchase and would be part of the contractual arrangement. I would think that enough hits even w/o an immediate purchase would keep them interested in a continuied advertising presence here, especially on this site where they get a bullseye on thier target audience.

They monitor them to see how many hits they get. I would assume usage would determine whether or not they continue to pay Matt to keep it there.

It is a basic affiliate program link. If you click on the ad and then purchase something, I get a small percentage. Just clicking the ad doesn't really do anything. I only get credit for purchases.
