Does anyone wear Froggs Troggs? What do you think of them? Would the action suit work as an outer layer in cold weather?

I was considering buying these but I have heard they are a bit fragile. I wasn’t sure how long they would last. For a about a bit more money ($99 for jacket and $69 for pants) you can get the Marmot Precip stuff that is strong and nearly as light. I am thinking of going with the Precip stuff instead of a higher priced Gore-type parka for a winter shell. I can’t say how well the Frogg Toggs would do for winter wear.

i've never worn them but i did get to feel them one time. i was surprised at how soft they are. i expected them to feel more like tyvek than they do. they come in stylish colors also. this is a frogg togg jacket.

I have the pants and the full zip jacket. They are good emergency stuff, but some day I'll probably buy something else to replace them. I think they were a good buy for me.

They are very water proof, and they are not that fragile (but they look like they should be). They are not very stylish - they seem sort of unfinished. The pants are very full and are meant to pull on over something, but you still have to take your boots off. I would rather have the half zip jacket...I believe that's what bpbaby is wearing above. One more thing, the pants are pretty short - great for me, but they might be a bit short for regular people.

Frogg Toggs
For winter, I think I would get something a bit more durable, but for summer hiking they worked well. Not good if you are going through a lot of brush/cactus but great as a windbreaker. We wore the jackets on the PCT and they were great, though not all that warm when it snowed in Washington.

rosey, a local radio station (Birmingham, AL) called Johnson & Johnson on their comment # for KY jelly. They told the person how much they liked Kentucky jelly. That they usually had it with their biscuits in the morning. The only problem was that it had a kinda minty aftertaste. The Customer Service person was dumbfounded. CS said that it was not for personal consumption. The radio guy asked what was it for. After a delay the CS person said lubrication. Radio guy came back with "You mean like WD40" I don't recall how the CS finally got out of it. It was hilarious to hear live. The whole time they refered to it as Kentucky jelly.

sorry but I love mine. for the money they cant be beat. I wear them in summer and winter. just a pair of long johns under them and your set to hike in really cold weather. the but does rip out if your not carefull but i found it to happen right on the seam so they sew right back up. tehy are totally waterproof and windproof and very liteweight.
