I have always had a policy of Fire, Fire, Fire anyone who Lies, Lies, Lies to me regardless of current job performance.

Before I took my first teaching job, I had this horrible summer of interviews. I had 35 interviews and put 15,000 miles on my car driving around the state. Anyway, one day I had an interview in Muskegon in the morning and another north of Detroit in the afternoon. It was a crazy day and I had to rush to get to the second. Then, the questions started sounding really familiar. I realized that the two interviewers were using the exact same set of questions. Of course, after a brief smile, I tried to use it to my advantage. I didn't get the job, but I had a good laugh about that.

After a while, I started to really enjoy the interviewing process. You can really learn a lot about a community by the questions their school board/adminstrators ask. So, even though the process was hard, I really grew to love this state.

Oh, and I wish you the best of luck in the search, Smiley Girl.
