“You can major in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management at Northern Michigan University for your B.S., or you can fulfill your PE with outdoor classes. HP 206 is Backpacking, HP222 is Hiking, HP 238 is Winter Camping. Rock climbing, kayaking, snowboarding, etc., too.”

“I teach two classes for 1 credit each, at Boise State University. In the fall, we have backpacking, and in the winter we have winter camping. Each has 6 class sessions, and an overnight trip. I get to meet some new people, go on two more trips than I would get otherwise, see a few new places, and get paid. What a deal!”

“You can take backpacking here at Cal Poly Pomona also, but I have never managed to look into it. It is offered at other local univesrities as well. I meet some of the classes while on patrol for the Forest Service.

My son has taken SCUBA here for three years. They have a great program. As a student it is very inexpensive to participate. They make their dives out at the various islands off the California coast.”
