The looks on the dogs' faces told me I had to turn it down. Apparently the frequencies reached by a combination of synthesizers and sitars was getting a bit intense for canine ears, lol!

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."
-- Dave Barry

"You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer."
-- Frank Zappa

"People who drink light "beer" don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee alot."
-- Unknown

"All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
-- Homer Simpson

Cool, Buddur is an Oysterhead fan! I hope they put out some new stuff soon. Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade is okay, but definitely no Oysterhead.

"Vinyl Resting Place" all Hendrix, followed by Noel Redding, bass player for the "Jimi Hendrix Experience".

The most amazing pearl: the band rehearsed twice in the couple of years they were together. It was all jamming. Amazing.

When All Else Has Been Done And Said...
Yeah Oysterhead is rad, and imo, Trey used up alot of good stuff with them he could've used with Phish. But Oysterhead and LCFFB is applea and oranges. Claypool's FFB is frickin' rad live...seen them 5 times and even got to party with a few of the band members...the small clubs were without a doubt the best shows. The first time I saw them, when they did a 15min rendition of Pink Floyd's "Pigs" it was the climax of the night...and there was still the headliner left to play.

"16 Tons"

Some people say a man is made out of mud well a poor man's made outta
muscle and blood..Muscle and blood and skin and bone..and a mind
that's weak..but a back thats strong.

And he was born one morning when the sun didn't shine..
He picked up his shovel and he went to the mines
He loaded 16 tons of that number 9 coal..Til-
the Straw boss said Well-uh b-less my soul!

You load 16 tons and whaddaya get??
another day older and deeper in dept
Saint Peter don'tcha call me 'Cause-
I can't go...I owe my soul to the Company
Store

So if you see him coming..you better step aside,-
Alot of men didn't and alot of men died.
He's got one fist of iron, and the other of
steel..And if the right one doesn't get you..
Then the night one will...

This is before your time.....
well I got great big blisters on my bloodshot eyes just lookin at that long legged female up ahead.
What she does simply walkin down that street south of the city makes me think about some stray cat gettin fed.
Well shes got a whole lot of motion in her soul but her soul's not the place she lets it show. mmmhm!

she got that body, oh yeah
and that motion, oh yeah
she gonna get to me, oh yeah
she gonna burn me, oh yeah

she gonna tear my soul apart and put big blisters on my heart and what a mighty crazy cooking way to go!

well I got great big blisters on my fingertips from reaching in my pocketbook and picking out the bills.
And I got tiny white blisters on the back of my throat getting at my nervous tension by taking all those fatting pills.
Well ever since we started running around from bar to bar I just cant seem to keep my stomach setteled down.

she got that body, oh yeah
and that motion, oh yeah
she gonna get to me, oh yeah
she gonna burn me, oh yeah

she gonna tear my soul apart and put big blisters on my heart and what a mighty crazy cooking way to go!

Overture, curtain, lights!
This is it. The night of nights.
No more rehearsing or nursing a part.
We know every part by heart!
(cane flip)
Overture, curtain, lights!
This is it. We'll hit the heights!
And oh, what heights we'll hit!
On with the show, this is it!
(character procession)
Tonight what heights we'll hit!
On with the show, this is it!

Q-104 in New York is running a Led Zeppelin A-Z weekend. It's great to hear all those songs that never make it to the radio. Jimmy Page had done some of the most innovative guitar work since Hendrix.

Los Lobos in Concert
I saw Los Bobos last night and they were tight! Played alot of stuff from their newest CD, Good Morning Aztlan. They also played alot of their best of; I Walk Alone, Matter of Time, The Neighborhood, Mas y Mas, Maricella... They did a tribute to Bob Marley (yesterday was his birthday) and broke into Waiting in Vain. For an encore they played a tribute to the Dead - They played Bertha and then broke into a dead-like space jam and then back to Bertha!

Fantastico!

CINDY TELLS ME
(Brian Eno)

Cindy tells me, the rich girls are leaving,
Cindy tells me, they've given up sleeping alone
And now they're so confused
By their new freedoms.

And she tells me
They're selling up their maisonettes
Left their Hotpoints to rust in their kitchenettes
And they're saving their labours for insane reading.

Some of them lose -- and some of them lose,
But that's what they want --
And that's what they choose.
It's a burden --
such a burden
Oh what a burden to be so relied on.

Cindy tells me,
What will they do with their lives?
Living quietly -- like labourers' wives...
Perhaps they'll re-acquire those things
They've all disposed of.
