Wonton tomato

wonton tomaaaaaaato I need a wonton tomaaato
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
wander wild and homeless
all roads lead to you
riding wind and laughing at the moon.
dont know who
or what i am
in your arms a while
face uplifted
knows to smile.
wrapped up in
your blanket sky
hear but see no trace
every where i turn
you kiss my face.
For sure, Om.
If you're ever looking for some o' that old Timey Folk Type Music, that's the place!
It may not be in the database, but a question on the forum will probably get you 4 or 5 different versions you've never heard before (or at least another 10 verses to the one you DO know, <G>).
I asked about some Red Clay Ramblers lyrics once, and two guys from the band responded!
Holy sheep #&%!$!
I'm going to see James Taylor next month so I thought it was time to pick up his new CD. I'm not real big on come back CDs because more times than not they disapoint me. I'm not ashamed to say this but I put the new CD in and didn't get 2 minutes into the first song "September Grass" and I had tears streaming down my face like a little girl. LOL! His writing and playing are just so unbelievable! So simple yet so effective. The way he can paint a picture with words and transport the soul away to another place just moves me. This guy hasn't had a CD out sense, well, forever. He hasn't missed a beat. This Cd is just so rich and diverse it leaves me speechless.
it is time for some tunes
crank it up
Well my name's John Lee Pettimore
Same as my daddy and his daddy before
You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here
He only came to town about twice a year
He'd buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line
Everybody knew that he made moonshine
Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad
He headed up the holler with everything he had
It's before my time but I've been told
He never came back from Copperhead Road
Now Daddy ran the whiskey in a big block Dodge
Bought it at an auction at the Mason's Lodge
Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side
Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside
Well him and my uncle tore that engine down
I still remember that rumblin' sound
Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night
Heard mama cryin', knew something wasn't right
He was headed down to Knoxville with the weekly load
You could smell the whiskey burnin' down Copperhead Road
I volunteered for the Army on my birthday
They draft the white trash first,'round here anyway
I done two tours of duty in Vietnam
And I came home with a brand new plan
I take the seed from Colombia and Mexico
I plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road
Well the D.E.A.'s got a chopper in the air
I wake up screaming like I'm back over there
I learned a thing or two from ol' Charlie don't you know
You better stay away from Copperhead Road
I also hung out with some of my music friends from another band over the weekend. A couple of them are wanting to write and record some Death Metal tunes with me.
Now that should be fun!
THE ACE
(Mike Craver / Tommy Thompson)
Got a date with a high tone girl
The one that wears that bouffant curl
She means business when she flirts
So I polished up the Chevy with the fender skirts
I hopped in my car and I stepped on the gas
I was layin' down rubber on the old bypass
Out a window she did creep
Headed on out for the lovers' leap
Made a detour by the barbecue shack
Put 12 cold beers on ice in the back
Found us a spot in the twilight zone
When the light of the police shone
And he said…
Oh… you jackleg you
I got the goods on you
And your sweetie too
I caught you in the car
With the stars in your eyes
And your brains in the bottom of your shoes
You're a hot dog, ain't you now?
You're the bulldog's big bow-wow
Got fuzz on your face
You're the ace with the sweaty brow
Headed on out for another spot
Just down the road from the 'Dash n' Dot'
Saxophones a-croonin' on the radio
And the moon it was hangin' low
Fingernails a-tappin' on the windowpane
It was her great big boyfriend Wayne
And he said…
Oh… you icecream you
I got the goods on you
And my sweetie too
I caught you in the car
With the stars in your eyes
And your brains in the bottom of your shoes
You're a hot dog, ain't you now?
You're the bulldog's big bow-wow
Got fuzz on your face
You're the ace with the sweaty brow
Sittin' in a parlour, drinkin' coca-cola
We were spinnin' the wax
With her hair up in curlers
She was a-filin' her nails on the davenport
When I thought she was ready for a little sport
I tripped on the rug, spilled my coke in her hair
Split the seat of my britches, put my foot through a chair
And she said…
Oh… you milkdud you
I've had enough of you
And your Chevy too (II?)
Go home in your car
With the stars in your eyes
And your brains in the bottom of your shoes
You're a hot dog, ain't you now?
You're the bulldog's big bow-wow
Got fuzz on your face
You're the ace with the sweaty brow
Monster Magnet - Spine Of Dog
I just had to get nice last night
My mind is so free you wouldn't believe
You wouldn't believe
I just had to catch a pig last night
My mind is so full you wouldn't believe
Nature's got a way, brothers, of scraping the bowl
eye of the hurricane
I sold a hundred hits to a hundred heads
that will never come back
You know what i mean
Peace is what you get from the Chemical King
yeah, yeah
You don't yank on the Spine of Dog
You get what you give, you know what I mean
Don't be suprised there's a bug in your eye
There ain't no pioneers
I just snort what i like
from what's already there
See Aggie, she's just a whitered old hag now
Unreachable, untouchable
So ride me, baby, in my bed of sweat and truth
and babble and groan words of praise and love
and fry like a pig
in the hart of the sun
I sold a hundred hits to a hundred heads
that will never come back
You know what i mean
Peace is what you get from the Chemical King
Yeah, yeah
You don't yank on the Spine of Dog
You get what you give, you know what i mean
Don't be suprised there's a bug in your eye
Why don't you see it for what it is, a #&%!$in' freakshow
If you will take a lot it will kill you
I love everyone
Yeah everyone
Went to see Neil Young and Crazy Horse last week and it was awesome. They did the whole Greendale album from start to finish. It's a concept album and they had sets and actors acting out the story. It was a cool mix of music and theater. Then they came out and did five or six of the classics.
It was funny to see all the differnt people there. The original fans were a bunch of kaky wearing, cell phone carrying 60-somethings and all the teens were dressed up like hippies. I told my buddy how clique it was that these kids are runnin' around like a bunch of love childs and they weren't even born until the 80's. But it's so cooool!
My son freaked that I was listening to Coldplay the other day. Got to keep your kids on their toes...lol
tempting, but i don't really mind. :-)
oh hey, i have a hilarious story. on Saturday night me and Tarpy were camping, and we had a James Taylor song stuck in our heads. so he was like, "wait, i'll play something else to get that song out of our heads," and pulls this ridiculous little whistle-thing from around his neck and starts tooting these high-pitched, awful noises on it. nothing that came from that thing could ever sound like music of any sort, ROTFLMAO!!! and he said it so seriously...i laughed hysterically about that for 10 minutes...i think i was actually crying. ha!!!
