"Toys In The Attic"... wow. Makes me want to crank up the '75 Grand Prix and pop in the 8-track, <G>

That song had a tendency to make me drive 20 mph over the limit. That, and "Rats In The Cellar".... LOL

Dang turbo, Deep Purple is way before your time. Shoot, it's almost before my time. Smoke on the Water still rocks, and there's always Space Truckin and My Woman from Tokyo.

I like Jet's "Are You Gonna Be my Girl" but I've been really gettting into Nickelhead. Never Again really kicks butt and their version of Saturday Night's for Fighting rocks.

The cosmos at large
It's so very big
It's so far away
The comets...the craters...the vapors
The solar wind
The residual echoes...the residual echoes
The residual echoes from the giant explosion
Where they said it beginned

The germs from space!
The negative-virus knit-wear
The blobulent suit
That's right! THE BLOBULENT SUIT
It's made of rubbert, it's very ugly
It's got an air hose...
(The guy that has it all has a SPACE WRENCH!)

The things that were supposed to be green
In the balck and white movies
They get you in the neck when you're not looking
They get you, the get you, they get you, get you, get you
The radio is broken -- it don't work no more
The radio is broken -- it don't work no more
The lovely Lisa Kranston:
(Her father invented the secred fuel (that's right!)
For the rocket)
So she gets to go with a clipboard!
She writes it down when the meters go around
And falls in love in a space warp
Space warp
Space warp

The giant knobs
The porthole where you see the earth for the first time
The corrugated fiberglass interior walls
The parially reclining G-force lawn furniture
The brown hole
The pointed brasseries
The atomic war
The tiny little dresses on the space girls
A love-starved race begging to reproduce
With earthmen
They need to reproduce (with John Agar)
They need to reproduce (with Morris Ankrum)
They need to reproduce (with Richard Basehart)
They need to reproduce (with Jackie Coogan)
They need to reproduce (with Sonny Tufts)
The botchino...the botchino...the botchino

The gigantic spider
The co-pilot always plays the harmonica
The navigator always gets killed by a bad space person
Uh-oh -- the radio is broken
It don't work anymore
The radio is broken
It don't work anymore
The radio is broken
It don't work anymore
We'll never get back to the Earth no more
Uh-oh!
We have to fall in love on Uranus!
The radio is...
That's right -- uh-oh
The radio is broken
The meteor storm
You spilled your coke
You're stepping on the popcorn
JOHN AGAR!
Uh-oh...

Keep a fire burning in your eye
Pay attention to the open sky
You never know what will be coming down
I don't remember losing track of you
You were always dancing in and out of view
I must have thought you'd always be around
Always keeping things real by playing the clown
Now you're nowhere to be found

I don't know what happens when people die
Can't seem to grasp it as hard as I try
It's like a song I can hear playing right in my ear
That I can't sing
I can't help listening
And I can't help feeling stupid standing 'round
Crying as they ease you down
'Cause I know that you'd rather we were dancing
Dancing our sorrow away
(Right on dancing)
No matter what fate chooses to play
(There's nothing you can do about it anyway)

Just do the steps that you've been shown
By everyone you've ever known
Until the dance becomes your very own
No matter how close to yours
Another's steps have grown
In the end there is one dance you'll do alone

Keep a fire for the human race
Let your prayers go drifting into space
You never know what will be coming down
Perhaps a better world is drawing near
And just as easily it could all disappear
Along with whatever meaning you might have found
Don't let the uncertainty turn you around
(The world keeps turning around and around)
Go on and make a joyful sound

Into a dancer you have grown
From a seed somebody else has thrown
Go on ahead and throw some seeds of your own
And somewhere between the time you arrive
And the time you go
May lie a reason you were alive
But you'll never know

Giddy-yap, chili!

When I hear that song these days I think of how we are involved in another war.

And this time the fortunate sons who sat out the last war are profiting from this one.

Cindy tells me, the rich girls are leaving
Cindy tells me, they've given up sleeping alone
And now they're so confused
By their new freedoms

And she tells me
They're selling up their maisonettes
Left their Hotpoints to rust in their kitchenettes
And they're saving their labours for insane reading

Some of them lose -- and some of them lose
But that's what they want --
And that's what they choose
It's a burden --
such a burden
Oh what a burden to be so relied on

Cindy tells me
What will they do with their lives?
Living quietly -- like labourers' wives...
Perhaps they'll re-acquire those things
They've all disposed of

I picked up Talking Heads Popular Favorites last night for $3 (2 disk set but missing disk 1). I forgot just how great they were! They are so indefinable. One song will be poppy, the next one new wave, the next one dance.

Bela Fleck is great trail music.

Lately, I've been delving into the Blues, alot of Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Koko Taylor, Led Zep BBC Sessions, just to name a few.

Thanks to Cummins I've got 'Moon River' stuck in my head.

If it had to be a Henry Mancini number, I would've preferred the theme to Peter Gunn, LOL
