“I picked up the new G3 DVD yesterday that has Satch, Vai and Malstiene live. Great dvd! Malmstiene looks old and overweight (his meathead must weigh 20 lbs. Alone!) but he’s still got all the chops he had. He did a great classical acoustic solo, Vai did a solo on a triple necked Ibanez (yes he gets all three going at once), and Joe did an awesome tapping solo from way back in the 80s from his first cd.

I also picked up a cd by a new band called Dropbox. It’s tough to find alternative bands that actually sound different than the heards.”
