“10-4, Good buddy ;)”

Uh oh, Ruby called me good buddy. Being the so-fist-ikated lady you are you may not be aware that "good buddy" is not the positive lingo it once was. A "good buddy" means a REALLY good buddy now. A good buddy is a guy who goes out and gets a BJ and then brings one back for you. LOL!

I tried to add this to my last post, but missed the edit deadline.

I've got to add that Patty Griffin has the most beautiful voice i've ever heard. We saw her live at the Ryman Auditorium a couple of years ago as a gift to my wife. I swear I had tears in my eyes listening to her sing. She has, to me, perfect pitch and tone, and really draws you into the music. Check out 1000 Kisses as well.

Did you know the termite is the single most fartingest creature on earth and studies have even been done to determine their effect on global warming?

There's you worthless trivia for the day...

If it's not the cows, it must be the bugs. I wonder if a house infested with termites stinks?

Who needs gear and trip and trail threads?

And since this is a music thread, thanks for the heads up on Patty Griffin. I'm not familiar with her. I'll check her out.

(I suppose one of you are going to tell me that "heads up" doesn't mean what I think it does anymore either.) he he he

I was looking at the first page of this thread and saw that you were listening to Black Label Society. Are you a fan? One of the guys in the band, Tim, is a regular at my bar. I have a picture of me, Tim, Zakk, and a couple of girls we know in the pub when they were boozin it up for lunch. Zakk is a FREAK!

BLS RAWKS! They have some great musicians that come and go through there. I was sad to see the bass player from Suicidal Tendencies go to Ozzy’s band.

They have a small fan base but the base they have is more akin to a biker fraternity. I like that when fans are that connected to a group in this day of one hit wonders. Do you have the live DVD? Good gawd what a LOUD DVD. They recorded it at Harpo’s in Detroit and they had it turned up so loud some of the cameras vibrate. Zack said they drained Harpos of every single drop of alcohol that night. LOL!

I’ve been wanting to see him live sense the Pride and Glory CD but it’s so hard with him playing with Ozzy and BLS seems to only play Ozzfest and I’m not sittin’ through 20 crappy bands in 100 degree weather to see BLS play for 20 minutes.

Ok, I’m stepping out and putting it all on the line here and opening myself up to get blasted but, here goes nothin’! For Christmas I bought my wife a CD that I too looked forward to burning a copy of. The 3 CD collection of Prince’s hits!

Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
2 get through this thing called life

Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here 2 tell u
There's something else
The afterworld

A world of never ending happiness
U can always see the sun, day or night

So when u call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
U know the one - Dr Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby

'Cuz in this life
Things are much harder than in the afterworld
In this life
You're on your own

Signs that might be omens say I'm going, going

Now that I am no longer stuck in 56K hell I can actually listen to internet radio. WOW! I just checked a couple of the standard channels on the M$ Media Player and found some sweet international music. I have a secret to reveal…I love Hindi music. I don’t know why I just love it. Listening to Radio-yo from Israel. Some slammin’ Jew music! LOL! Sounds better than the Top 40 crap here.

Man! I just ripped about 100 megs of great techno/new age stuff from http://www.delerium.com/. Got some great remixes, some unreleased stuff, a few videos, and about 5 whole albums from their other groups like Intermix, Pro-tech, Mutual Mortuary, Frontline Assembly, and Conjure One.

Those into dance/electronic/trance/hardcore/etc may want to check out http://www.di.fm/
They have all sorts of such live-stream "stations." Many listeners are DJs themselves and contribute regularly. I used to listen to it at work until they cracked down on live streaming here.
Now I'm listening to Portishead (Dummy). Gotta keep mixing it up.

I only have Dummy which I bought on a lark. I love to buy music I don't know anything about, then return if I don't like it. What is the rest of their music like? I love Dummy. Great stuff.
OK, now I am trying to listen to Dylan but my computer is freaking out for some reason.

Thanks for the headsup getagrip. I'll check it out.

I found KNAC.com Pure Rock yesterday. Dang! I've never heard a station this loud and fast before. They play all the good metal and thrash. Do you know how many years it's been sense I've heard Anthrax on the radio?

Dummy is there best album..Their self titled release is worth getting, but doesn't stand up to Dummy...It doesn't have a single down track. I think you have to be in the right mood to listen to Portishead..otherwise it can almost be depressing :) Right now I'm listen to Depeche Modes - Enjoy the Silence single..The perfect song..."Words are spoken to be broken..feelings are intense often trivial..pleasures remain, but so does the pain...Good chit..As for electronica..Grab Sasha's Involver or Sander K's Everybody too..Great Stuff :)
