WK, I don't know. I was hoping you could tell me. : )

I used to listen to a Canadian web station because of all that nonsense. Now I just listen to www.kexp.org Best radio station in the world. Especially to hear indie stuff.

Listening to Gavin DeGraw/Chariot at the moment. Not really in line with my usual tastes, but I like this so much I'm gonna go see him play next week.
Next I'm back to my quest to listen to all the albums I own (alpha by artist, chronological within artist) -- I'm up to Beastie Boys/Hello Nasty so far.
As wsdavies suggested some time ago, I finally bought Sasha/Involver last night. It is great, so ppl who like electronica listen up!

Currahee;
I noticed awhile back you mentioned Patty Griffin. Got "Living with Ghosts" the other day and am liking it. I will have to buy some more of her albums, but what do you suggest as especially good? Flaming Red? None of my friends have heard of her, so I am pretty lost.
My quest to listen to everything is not proceeding very quickly. Got a little side-tracked by some bootlegs a friend sent me. I am only to bjork/vespertine now. Oh well, at least it's a pleasure, not a chore.

I'm really glad you liked her music.
Music is a great vice.

1000 Kisses and Flaming Red
are my favorites in that order. She has the most amazing voice.
1000 Kisses was actually a demo she cut in a friends basement studio to give to the record label. They liked it so much they cut it as the album without changing a thing. She has 4 albums out, but you'd have to talk to my wife to get details, she has all of them.

Thanks! I will check out those other albums. Music is definately my most consuming vice -- consuming my money and my time -- but what a pleasure. Right now, I have something around 400 albums, bootlegs, etc. but does this stop me from going to my favorite local music store once a week or so? NO WAY!
OK, so now I'm listening to Black 47 and then I'm off.

Just two good old boys

Let's see... right at this moment. Checking iTunes. brb.

Here it is..

Letting Go
"Gripping arms so tight
The security I have inside
Knowing what is right
Holding onto my cry

Letting Go
Of the things I hold so dear
Letting Go
Of all my pain and all my fears
Letting Go
Of the things I hold so dear
Letting Go
Of all my pain and all my fears

I have been brought to a place
Where I want to give up everything
Where all I can do is seek your face
The brokenness I will bring

Letting Go
Of the things I hold so dear
Letting Go
Of all my pain and all my fears
Letting Go
Of the things I hold so dear
Letting Go
Of all my pain and all my fears

Holding onto the things I deem so strong
Holding on even though I know I've held on too long

Letting Go
Letting Go
Of the things I hold so dear
Letting Go
Of all my pain and all my fears
Letting Go
Of the things I hold so dear
Letting Go
Of all my pain and all my fears
Of all my pain and all my fears
Letting Go."

It was probably Ironhorse as well. I've heard them do Aqualung, by Tull.It was awesome.

What Drum and Bugle Corps is your daughter in? I spent 17 years in various corps. Both Junior and Senior.

hehehe, you were before my daughter's time. she was with them in 2001. She loved it. It was a great experience for her. She was on the guard line.

You ever watch winter guard. The music was a tape and they did their routine to it.
There use to be a group called Chimaras (sp)that was awesome. I never had any problems with her going on trips for that either. Most of the guys who did guard were gay.

Just for the record then. I am still a screaming lead soprano bugle player, although I'll play anything down the brass line. After 17 years of corps...I can say with 100% accuracy about the guys in 'The Guard'....

Yes, she is plenty safe!

Supersuckers are funny. But Eddie Spaghetti isn't a very nice guy, I must say. Kinda pompous.

Ewk, I love that Andrea Bocelli song.

Right now the iPod is on shuffle and "Love Bites" Def Leppard is playing. I love Def Leppard. Reminds me of high school.

Gotta agree with pixie, here. Supersuckers opened for the Rev Horton Heat this past week, and, although I enjoyed their set, I could look at the stage because he was so rude and obnoxious. But, there were people there just to see him and left after the set, so I guess that whole attitude works for some people.

I have a Dell Pocket DJ. 1 gig more space than a mini-Ipod. It rocks. Easier use too I think. Has a scroll bar and actual buttons.

In the car it was Fugazi. Now it's...mmmm....lets see....how about some Thomas Newman. I'm in a chill, stoic kinda mood.

I just bought both of the Kings of Leon CDs for a $20.00 Both are good solid rock. I'm picking up influences from Golden Earring, Tom Petty and som others. The first 3 tracks off of the Youth & Young Manhood make me want to roll down the windows, step on the gas & ROCK OUT!
