Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
"Les petits riens" K.299b

Performers: Budapest Symphony Orchestra,
László Csányi, Dirigent

Danced to Mozart, Les Petits Riens is courtly, graceful, classical ballet at its best - clear and clean and beautiful to watch.

This work will be played again on:
11/02/2006 at about 10:25 AM Swiss time, (2:25 AM EST)

Radio Swiss Classic

Interesting, Leofric1, according to a google search: Wagner: Vorspiel - Hojotoho! Hojotoho! Heiaha! Heiaha
but are you listening to a record, CD, radio, TV, a radio.com station or what? If I didn't have to leave, I would enjoy tuning in on it.

Not even complete either. I just followed along with the lyrics and it's only half there. I have the Wagner Without Words CD but since hearing some of it in Apocalypse Now I have been wanting to hear more of the 'with words' version. I'd like to find a set of lyrics in German and English side by side to follow along with.

Leofric1 - That's interesting, German and English! For Christmas I bought my granddaughter a CD of Peter and the Wolf in English. I wanted copies in English and in Spanish. I know that there is a 195x LP of it with English on one side and Spanish on the other. There were a number of CD's in German available, which I think I would enjoy.

Well, I'd like to listen to it in the original German but have both German and English printed lyrics side-by-side to better follow along with. I'm also just simply amazed that my daughter has such wide musical tastes, and not just the modern stuff.

Peter and the Wolf was originally in Spanish?

Went hiking today up Peekamoose Mt (Catskills) with digital FM music playing. I must be getting old because I had to take off my favorite half-fingered gloves & put on my goretex down gloves. Put my unlined Parka over my 300# fleece & donned a fleece cap instead of my sweatband. First time I've ever been up there in Feb that there wasn't at least a couple feet of snow. Clear to about 3,000' & then put on the crampons because the trail was packed ice.

Dum, dum, dum, Mr. Vice President what have you done
Dum, dum, dum, it's the sound of your gun
Dum, dum, dum, Mr. Vice President what have you done
Dum, dum, dum, it's the sound, it's the sound...
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah....

Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
His whole world's come undone
From looking straight at the sun
What did his lawyer do
What did he put you through

They say when Cheney was arrested
They found him underneath a train
But man, he had it comin'
Now that Cheney's Got A Gun
He ain't never gonna be the same

Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
His dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
Tell him now it's untrue
What did his lawyer do

He jacked the little bitty baby
The man has got to be insane
They say the spell that he was under
The lightnin' and the thunder
Knew that someone had to stop the pain

Run away, run away from the pain
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Run away, run away from the pain
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Run away, run away, run, run away

Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
His dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
What did his lawyer do
It's Cheney's last I.O.U.

He had to take him down easy
And put a pellet in his heart
He said 'cause nobody believes me
The man was such a sleeze
He ain't never gonna be the same

Run away, run away from the pain
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Run away, run away from the pain
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Run away, run away, run, run away

Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
Everybody is on the run

Cheney's Got A Gun
His dog day's just begun
Now everybody's on the run
(Honey, honey what's our problem)
'Cause Cheney's Got A Gun
(Tell me it ain't right)
Cheney's Got A Gun
(Was it daddys cradle robbin')
His dog day's just begun
(That made you scream at night)
Cheney's Got A Gun
His dog day's just begun
Now everybody's on the run
Cheney's Got A Gun

I found this great group called Balkan Beat Box. They mix traditional folk music from Scandinavia with mediteranian music and then mix it all up with some good heavy dance beats. I've been streaming their whole CD on their site but think I just might have to buy this one.
