add Ministry's psalm 69 CD, put the player on random, and it's just beautiful.

I got a bunch of Torah shiur CDs from a friend and one CD has music from a guy named Avraham Abutbul on it and spoken word by Rabbi Lazer Brody over it. It's some of the coolest, laid back music I've heard in a long time.

Christmas In Prison
©John Prine

It was Christmas in prison
and the food was real good
we had turkey and pistols
carved out of wood
and I dream of her always
even when I don't dream
her name's on my tongue
and her blood's in my stream.

Chorus:
Wait awhile eternity
old mother nature's got nothing on me
come to me
run to me
come to me, now
we're rolling
my sweetheart
we're flowing
by God!

She reminds me of a chess game
with someone I admire
or a picnic in the rain
after a prairie fire
her heart is as big
as this whole goddamn jail
and she's sweeter than saccharine
at a drug store sale.

The search light in the big yard
swings round with the gun
and spotlights the snowflakes
like the dust in the sun
it's Christmas in prison
there'll be music tonight
I'll probably get homesick
I love you. Goodnight.

It's George Jones Time!!

"Can't hardly bear the sight of lipstick on the cigarettes there in the ashtray
Lyin' cold the way you left 'em, but at least your lips caressed them while
you packed
Or the lip-print on a half-filled cup of coffee that you poured and didn't drink
But at least you thought you wanted it, that's so much more than I can say
for me"

Now that's poetry.

Hey Stovie/Dayhiker,

Music is on its way. Stovie, you will have it tomorrow. Dayhiker, you will have on Firday. Fed Ex would not let me send a package using Standard Overnight for some reason, so I sent it 2 day.

You will get:

Oh I'd rather go and journey
Where the diamond crescent's glowing
And run across the valley
Beneath the sacred mountain
And wander through the forest

Where the trees have leaves of prisms
And break the light in colors
That no one knows the names of

And when it's time I'll go and wait
Beside a legendary fountain
‘Til I see your form reflected
In its clear and jeweled waters
And if you think I'm ready

You may lead me to the chasm
Where the rivers of our vision
Flow into one another

I will watch her dive beneath
The white cascading waters
She may beg she may plead
She may argue with her logic
And then mention all the things I'll lose

That really have no value
In the end she will surely know
I wasn't born to follow
