TEDDY BEARS’ PICNIC
(Jimmy Kennedy & John W. Bratton)

If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

Ev'ry teddy bear who's been good
Is sure of a treat today.
There's lots of marvelous things to eat
And wonderful games to play.

Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
Cause that's the way the teddy bears have their picnic.

If you go down to the woods today
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely down in the woods today
But safer to stay at home.

For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

Picnic time for teddy bears
The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today
Watch them, catch them unawares
And see them picnic on their holiday.

See them gaily gad about
They love to play and shout;
They never have any care;

At six o'clock their mummies and daddies,
Will take them home to bed,
Because they're tired little teddy bears.

CLOUDY
(Paul Simon)

Cloudy
The sky is grey and white and cloudy
Sometimes I think it's hanging down on me
It's hitch-hike a hundred miles
I'm a rag-a-muffin child
Pointed finger, painted smile
I left my shadow waiting down the road for me a while

Cloudy
My thoughts are scattered and they're cloudy
They have no borders, no boundaries
They echo and they swell
From Tolstoy to Tinkerbell
Down from Berkeley to Carmel
Got some pictures in my pocket and a lot of time to kill

Hey, Sunshine
I haven't seen you in a long time
Why don't you show your face and bend my mind
These clouds stick to the sky
Like a floating question, why
And they linger there to die
They don't know where they're going, and my friend, neither do I

Cloudy…
Cloudy…
Cloudy…
Cloudy…

OUT ON THE SEA
(John Dillon / Elizabeth Anderson)

Out on the sea, there is an island
Out on the sea, there is a place
Out on the sea there's a wave
With the power to save
All the sailors from the dark and the deep

We used to dance in the shadows
Under the moon's pale light
Away from home and all alone
Turning away into the night

And she would shine like a diamond
Trapped in a clear crystal ring
And the tears in my eyes
Were the stars in the sky
Fading away when she would sing

Out on the sea, there is an island
Out on the sea, there is a place
Out on the sea there's a wave
With the power to save
All the sailors from the dark and the deep

THE PHILOSOPHERS' DRINKING SONG
(Monty Python)

Oh... Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable
Heidegger, Heidegger, was a boozy begger
Who could think you under the table
David Hume could out-consume
Schoepenhauer and Haegel
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as sloshed as Schlagel

There was nothing Nietsche couldn't teach ye
About the raising of the wrist...
Socrates himself was permanently pissed...

Oh... John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
Drank half a pint of shandy (was particularly ill)
Plato, they say, could stick it away
Half a crate of whiskey every day
Aristotle, Aristotle, was a bugger for the bottle
Hobbes was fond of his dram
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart
"I drink, therefore I am!"

Oh, Socrates himself is particularly missed...
A... lovely-little-thinker-but-a-bugger-when-he's-pissed!

Oops, sorry. I'll tell you how it is. ;)

Too bad about the channel, it's really good. Last night we watched a documentary on the American Pimp. It was fascinating and more than alittle funny. And everything is uncut and un-edited for television.

I am watching VH1Classic's top 20 cover songs. I had forgotten how cool it was to see Run DMC and Aerosmith together singing Walk This Way. Steven Tyler was funny as hell. Great video. It both revived Aerosmith and brought Hip-Hop into the mainstream.

She was the daughter of a wealthy
Florentine Pogen
(You-ooh)
Read 'em 'n weep
Was here adjustable slogan
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ahh)

She was a debutante daisy
With a color-note organ
Deep in the street
She drove a '59 Morgan

WOO-LAH!

That's the kinda step she takes
When her hot breaks
hot brakes!
That's the kinda sound she makes
(ooh-let-go-uh-me!)
When her crab cakes....
(Arf arf arf)

She didn't like it when her fan belt
Shrunk & got shorter
(ointment!)
Battery leaks could nearly cost her a quarter

She didn't want to go home
An' watch the pestle go mortar
Later she speaks
On how Perellis might court her

Na-na-na, na-na-noo....

Yeah I know everyone loves Bob Marley to point of making it almost cliche` but I can never get tired of his music. I haven't found another Reggae singer who embodies his spirituality and love. Although I Shot the Sheriff is right up there with Yellow Submarine though. I just can't hear it anymore and skip it. LOL!

The part that Noel sings is awesome. I saw a video of it the other night, and it totally rocked. 10 years ago, I thought Liam was the hottest thing on the planet...now he makes me want to hurl, and I like Noel better. I think I'm getting old.
