I'm listening to my iPod right now. Got Depeche Mode and the man in black on at the same time. Listening to them both right now, so -- listeneing to Blasphemous Ring of Fire. Pretty much one of the best songs ever, so -- I dated Johnny Cash. We were married, so -- That was my full-length coat he perfomed in.

mildbill...I would prolly say YES is a band nearest to my heart...I can't even recall how many times i've seen them. They do put on an awesome show. Stikmon and I would confiscate some serious camera equipment into various arenas and back in '78 or '79 can't remember but they were playing in-the-round at the Philly Spectrum and we sat real close and got some great shots....

Anywho....Rick says he can't tour under doctor's orders....so he's sending in his son Oliver in his place for this summer's tour...

BTW...last Friday....ASIA (original line-up) was playing the Kirby in Wilkes-Barre....Steve Howe kicked some serious behind....

I'm goin' where them chilly winds don't blow
Gonna find a true love; that is where I want to go
Out where them chilly winds don't blow

Sing your song, sing it soft and low
Sing it for your baby and then I'll have to go
Out where them chilly winds don't blow

Wish I was a headlight on a westbound train
I'd shine my light on cool Colorado range
Out where them chilly winds don't blow

If you're feelin' lonely, if you're feelin' low
Remember that I loved you more than you will ever know
Goin' where them chilly winds don't blow

I'm goin' where them chilly winds don't blow
Gonna find a true love. That is where I want to go
Out where them chilly winds don't blow

I'm leavin' in the springtime, won't be back till fall
If I can forget you, I might not come back at all
Out where them chilly winds don't blow

Out where them chilly winds don't blow

Out where them chilly winds don't blow

I've been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty, don't you know, but I'm still... yea... willin'
Drivin’ the road late at night
I see my pretty Alice in every headlight, Alice... Dallas Alice

I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehacepi to Tanapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I won't get weighed

And if you give me... weed, whites and wine... and you show me a sign
I'll be willin’... to keep moving

[inst. break]

I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stoved in but I'm still on my feet
And I'm still... willin'
I smuggled smoke for folks in Mexico
Baked by the sun everytime I go to Mexico...   I'm willin

I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehacepi to Tanapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I won't get weighed

And if you give me... weed, whites and wine... and you show me a sign
I'll be willin’... to keep moving

The boys all dance with the girls from the city,
And they don't care to dance with me.
Now it ain't my fault that the fields are muddy,
And the red clay stains my feet.

And it's under my nails and it's under my collar,
And it shows on my Sunday clothes.
I do my best with the soap and the water,
But the damned old dirt won't go.

But when I pass through the pearly gate,
Will my gown be gold instead?
Or just a red clay robe with red clay wings,
And a red clay halo for my head?

Now it's mud in the spring and it's dust in the summer,
When it blows in a crimson tide.
Until trees and leaves and the cows are the colour,
Of the dirt on the mountainside.

But when I pass through the pearly gate,
Will my gown be gold instead?
Or just a red clay robe with red clay wings,
And a red clay halo for my head?

Now Jordan's banks they're red and muddy,
And the rolling water is wide.
But I got no boat, so I'll be good and muddy,
When I get to the other side.

And when I pass through the pearly gate,
Will my gown be gold instead?
Or just a red clay robe with red clay wings,
And a red clay halo for my head?

I'll take the red clay robe with the red clay wings,
And a red clay halo for my head.

Just across the Blue Ridge
Where the high meadows lay
And the galax spreads through the new mown hay

There's a rusty iron bridge
'Cross a shady ravine
Where the hard road ends and turns to clay

With a suitcase in his hand
Well a lonesome boy stands
Gazing at the river sliding by beneath his feet

And the dark water springs
From the black rock and and flows
Out of sight where the twisted laurel grows

Past the coal-tipple towns
In the cold December rain
Into Charleston runs the New River train

Where the hillsides are brown
And the broad valley stained
By a hundred thousand lives of work and pain

In a tar paper shack
Down the road, across the track
Stands an old used up man trying to recall something back

But his old mem'ries fade
Like the city in the haze
And his days have flown together like the rain

And the dark water springs
‘Cross the black rock and flows
Out of sight where the twisted laurel grows

I have been a fan of Austin City Limits for a long, long time. I will make a note of that in my calendar. WDVX here in Knoxville gave them a lot of air play earlier in the year.

Austin City Limits sure has changed over the last few years.   When I started watching the artists were more akin to Bill Monroe and Doc Watson.   Now acts like Alison Krauss are more the exception than the rule.

(They even got rid of "London Homesick Blues")

I suspect the SXSW music festival might have had something to do with accelerating that process.

Hey, you’re young and swingin’
No time to think about tomorrow
But there ain’t no way to deny it
Some day, you’re gonna ‘buy it’
Plan today
Go with Ferryman
Tomorrow!
Ferryman, Ferryman,
He’s the man with the plot, the man with the plan!
Ferryman, Ferryman,
He’s the mortician man who loves you!
A lot!
