GAMES WITHOUT FRONTIERS
(Peter Gabriel)

Hans plays with Lotte, Lotte plays with Jane
Jane plays with Willi, Willi is happy again
Suki plays with Leo, Sacha plays with Britt
Adolf builts a bonfire, Enrico plays with it
–Whistling tunes we hid in the dunes by the seaside
–Whistling tunes we're kissing baboons in the jungle

It's a knockout

If looks could kill, they probably will
In games without frontiers — war without tears
Games without frontiers — war without tears

Jeux sans frontieres

André has a red flag, Chiang Ching's is blue
They all have hills to fly them on except for Lin Tai Yu
Dressing up in costumes, playing silly games
Hiding out in tree-tops shouting out rude names
–Whistling tunes we hide in the dunes by the seaside
–Whistling tunes we piss on the goons in the jungle

It's a knockout

If looks could kill they probably will
In games without frontiers — wars without tears
If looks could kill they probably will
In games without frontiers — war without tears
Games without frontiers — war without tears

Jeux sans frontieres
Jeux sans frontieres
Jeux sans frontieres
Jeux sans frontieres…….

If today was not a crooked highway
If tonight was not a crooked trail
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time
Then lonesome would mean nothin' to me at all

Yes 'n' only if my own true love was waitin'
If I could hear her heart a-softly poundin'
Yes 'n' only if she was lyin' by me
I'd lie in my bed once again

I can't see my reflection in the water
I can't speak the sounds that show no pain
I can't hear the echo of my footsteps
Or remember the sounds of my own name

Yes 'n' only if my own true love was waitin'
If I could only hear her heart a-softly poundin'
Yes 'n' only if she was lyin' by me
Then I'd lie in my bed once again

There's beauty in that silver singin' river
There's beauty in that rainbow in the sky
But none of these an' nothin' else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love's eyes

Yes 'n' only if my own true love was waitin'
'f I could hear her heart a-softly poundin'
Yes 'n' only if she was lyin' by me
Then I'd lie in my bed once again

William Eliot Whitmore, "Gravel Road"

It must be that time of year
I'm feeling that pull again
I've got to get away from here
and back to where my feet can stand
Back to where the trees grow tall
and ain't a sound for miles around
Except for the distant call
of that lonely coyote's howl

Life's mysteries unravel when my tires hit that gravel
and I leave the paved road far behind
Every breath I breathe is one step closer to me
easing my worried mind

Way back in the sticks
is where I feel alive
in my rusty old '66
that won't even go fifty five

Nothing can compare
to the joy that I've found
every time I go back there
to my own spiritual ground

I'll make a quart of sweet corn whiskey
from ten gallons of sour mash
I'll turn a pile of firewood
into a pile of sky grey ash

If there's anything left inside me
that remembers what it's like to feel
that cold rain falling on the top of my head
and the mud beneath my heels

Rainy day people always seem to know when it's time to call
Rainy day people don't talk, they just listen till they've heard it all
Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell 'ya they've been down like you
Rainy day people don't mind if you're cryin' a tear or two

If you get lonely, all you really need is that rainy day love
Rainy day people all know there's no sorrow they can't rise above
Rainy day lovers don't love any others, that would not be kind
Rainy day people all know how it hangs on a piece of mind

(inst. break]

Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell you, they've been down there too
Rainy day people don't mind if you cry a tear or two

Rainy day people always seem to know when you're feeling blue
High stepping strutters who land in the gutters sometimes need one too
Take it or leave it, or try to believe it
If you've been down too long....

Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside they just pass it on

Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside they just pass it on

OK, I love all types of music and there are very, very few styles I don't like. Bluegrass is one I have never liked. I recently came into possession of a Red Molly CD though and really like it. They kind of remind me of an early Dixie Chicks if they were bluegrass.

I like Bluegrass to a certain degree. If the band is really good and the music is live, I like it, but when I listen to it on cd, I can only take it so much. Of course I can say the same for Speed Metal.

BONO MACK
(non-Holland-Dozier-Holland)

Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?
Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?

My arms are missing you, my lips feel the same way too
I tried so hard to be true, like I promised I'd do
But this girl keeps coming around, she's trying to wear my resistance down

Hey Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?
Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?

She calls me on the phone, about three times a day
Now my heart's just listening to what she has to say
But this loneliness that I have within keeps reaching out to be her friend

Hey Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?
Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?

Need your loving… need your loving

[Instr. break]

I wanna say, I'm not getting any stronger, I can't hold out very much longer
Trying hard to be true, but Bono, she talks just as sweet as you

Hey Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?
Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?

Need your loving... need your loving
Need your loving... need your loving...

Hey Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?
Bono… Bono… oh Bono Mack, when are you coming back?

She sang hymns out of tune
And carried a yellow balloon
She traded her love for a Spanish doubloon
And talked to the people
The people who are

Now I have a clock on the wall
It keeps time and that isn't all
It tells me how long she's been gone
Gone to the people
The people who are

She lived in a sorcerer's room
And pounded the table and brandished the broom
She turned ten thousand when she touched the moon
And turned to the people
The people who are

The rain came down and scattered away
The old antique caretaker's children that play
Early that morning she passed away
Passed to the people
The people who are

She sang hymns out of tune
And carried a yellow balloon
She traded her love for a Spanish doubloon
And talked to the people
The people who are

I love myself I want you to love me
When I feel down I want you above me
I search myself I want you to find me
I forget myself I want you to remind me

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I don't want anybody else Oh no, oh no, oh no

You're the one who makes me come running
You're the sun who makes me shine
When you're around I'm always laughing
I want to make you mine

I close my eyes And see you before me
Think I would die If you were to ignore me
A fool could see Just how much I adore you
I get down on my knees I do anything for you

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

I want you I don't want anybody else
And when I think about you I touch myself
Ooh, ooh, oo, oo ahh

It's a little easier to take than Chaucer.   Have you ever seen all the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne??   < G >   That Robert Burns stuff can give you one heck of a braincramp.

That particular one is one a friend of mine used to play.   I was thinking about him this morning.   About five years ago his leg was bothering him, and he didn't think much about it.   But a few weeks went by and it didn't get any better so he finally went to get it checked out.   The doc sent him straight to the hospital from his office and he was gone within ten days.   Just like that.

AULD LANG SYNE
(Robt. Burns)

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?
And days of auld lang syne, my dear,
And days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?

We twa hae run aboot the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine.
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne,
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld ang syne.

We twa hae sported i' the burn,
From morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne.
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.

And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

I know that I don't have much to give, but I can open any door

I have finally found a way to live in the color of the Lord

I have finally found a place to live just like I never could before
And I know I don't have much to give, but soon I'll open any door

I have finally found a place to live in the presence of the Lord

I have finally found a way to live just like I never could before
